El Cortez, Station Casinos Partner for Sports Book Managament

EXECUTIVE AT EL Cortez Hotel and Casino and Station Casinos LLC announced a partnership today for Station Casinos to manage the sports book operations for the downtown casino. The arrangement, pending state and local gaming regulatory approvals, would commence in early-August.

Station Casinos will provide the El Cortez with Station’s Wagering Integrated Network (WIN), a wholly owned, proprietary system that allows for the processing, management and reporting of race and sports wagers across the Station Casinos’ network of race and sports books as well as its odds on all wagered sporting events. Additionally, El Cortez customers will have the opportunity to participate in Station’s popular Great Giveaway and Last Man Standing Football contests as well as have access to Sports Connection, the Station’s proprietary intranet and phone wagering program for Nevada residents.

“Partnering with Station Casinos will allow us to grow our sports book business and tap into their vast network, state-of-the-art technology and popular promotions,” said Mike Nolan, General Manager/Chief Operating Officer for El Cortez. “We have a large clientele who are employed by downtown businesses that wager with us, now they can also enjoy the ease and convenience of playing Station’s Great Giveaway at the El Cortez.” Other new sports book offerings at El Cortez will now include: higher betting limits, higher comps and VIP parking for sports bettors.

The management contract with the El Cortez marks Station Casinos’ foray into managing sports book operations outside its family of casinos. “We’re excited to be in the downtown gaming market and bring our cutting-edge wagering technology and exciting contests to the loyal guests of the El Cortez,” said Art Manteris, Vice President of Sports Book Operations for Station Casinos. Currently, Station Casinos owns and operates 16 sports books inside its various casinos.
