The SC Blog received the following email from our Team Members at Aliante Station. Nice story we thought we would share:
Cynthia has battled with hydrocephalus and spina bifida that has bounded her to a wheelchair for all her life. She is a very sweet and shy young lady. Her father is not in the picture and her mother and her live very simply. When wish granters went to interview Cynthia she went through the different wish options. She took her time and right before the wish granters were leaving (thinking she just wasn’t sure what she wanted) very softly said she really wanted a Quinceanera party. Cynthia was so excited we are able to make her wish come true. Cynthia also wanted to be able to dance a traditional dance at her quince and she was so excited when we found a dance studio that will be helping her choreograph a dance especially for her big day. Cynthia can’t wait for her special day!!! Cynthia and her mother are both very kind and sincere people and they are so excited and grateful for this wish.

The Aliante Catering department will be hosting Cynthia’s Quinceanera.

Cabo Mexican Restaurant To Open At Additional Station Casinos Locations

(Las Vegas, Nev.)- Known for its bold Baja flavors at reasonable prices, Cabo Mexican Restaurant will take up residence by September 29 at additional locations: Sunset Station, Boulder Station and Aliante Station. Cabo, a Station Casinos owned and operated casual Mexican restaurant, will replace Guadalajara, and offer consistent high-quality food and service found at existing Cabo locations in Red Rock Resort, Palace Station and Santa Fe Station.

The menu for all locations will offer expanded combo meal selections that allow guests to match up to four of their favorite Mexican entrees, such as chile rellenos, enchiladas and tamales, on one plate. Seven entrée options provide hundreds of possible combinations that are all served with rice and beans. Combo meals run $11.49-$15.29 and all entrees on the menu run $8.99-$18.99.

All-you-can-eat tacos will be available at every Cabo Mexican Restaurant, and will spread to all Mexican restaurants in the Station Casinos group, including the Fiestas, to coincide with the opening of the new Cabo locations. From $6.99-$7.99 depending on location, diners may test their eating abilities by enjoying unlimited chicken or beef tacos. Days of the week and times the special is available will vary by restaurant.

The new Cabo menu will keep nearly all of the wide variety of dishes currently enjoyed by guests including:

  • Tableside guacamole: Two ripe Haas avocados, Roma tomatoes, green Serrano chiles, sweet red onions, cilantro and freshly squeezed lime, served with warm tortilla chips.
  • Camarones del Cabo: Bacon wrapped shrimp stuffed with Monterey Jack cheese, flash fried golden brown and served with honey mustard sauce.
  • Fajitas: With choices of chicken, beef or shrimp, all fajitas are marinated in a special blend of herbs and spices, served sizzling hot on a skillet with onions, peppers and tomatoes. Accompaniments include pico de gallo, guacamole, sour cream, warm tortillas, Mexican style rice and black or refried beans.

There is no better way to wash down a hearty Mexican meal than with a Cabo specialty drink. The extensive bar menu offers several margaritas, including Cadillac and strawberry, in addition to mojitos and a wide selection of domestic and imported beers.

To round out the whole meal, desserts include flan, apple filled churros and the decadent fried ice cream: a scoop of vanilla coated with crispy cinnamon sugar flakes, fried to a golden brown, finished with cajeta (Mexican caramel), chocolate sauce and whipped cream.

Each Cabo location is uniquely designed and colorful, featuring a reflection of Mexican culture. All Cabo Mexican Restaurants have a full bar, with many offering happy hour food and drink specials – some as low as $.99.

All Cabo Mexican Restaurants are open for dinner and locations at Boulder Station and Santa Fe Station are open for lunch. Hours vary by location. For more information, log onto www.stationcasinos.com where you can link to each property for details.

All-New Boarding Pass to Reinvent Popular Loyalty Program

STATION CASINOS REINVENTS POPULAR LOYALTY CARD PROGRAM

BOARDING PASS CARD REVAMPED TO OFFER MORE BENEFITS AND CASH BACK TO GUESTS

Station Casinos changed the way locals gambled back in 1999 with the introduction of the innovative Boarding Pass loyalty card program that rewards guests for their gaming play; and on September 15, Station Casinos will introduce the all-new Boarding Pass program with the addition of several significant enhancements including:

  • Video poker and slot players will now earn points three times faster than before, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.  Every one dollar played will equal three points when playing video poker, slots and video keno making the Boarding Pass program the most competitive point ratio in town.
  • The merging of three loyalty card programs into one card (Boarding Pass at Station Casinos’ properties; Amigo Card at the Fiestas and the Wild Card for the Wildfire Gaming division)  with equal points earned and redeemed at 18 Station Casinos’ locations.
  • Players may now earn cash back.  One dollar in cash for every 1,000 points earned.
  • Players’ points can be redeemed at over 50 restaurants, 11 hotels, five bowling centers, seven movie theaters, two spas or for hundreds of concerts.  No other locals’ loyalty program offers full access to dozens of free entertainment offerings.
  • Players will get status twice as fast with a six month cycle for both status credits and maintaining their status level.
  • Status credits can be earned in other gaming areas including pari-mutuel waging, poker, sports book and bingo.
  • Status credits, which assist guests in moving up in their card status as well as provide additional perks and discounts, can be earned throughout the casino including video poker, slots, video keno, table games, poker, race and sports book wagering and during bingo sessions.   The threshold to get status is lower than ever before.

“The  enhancements to the all-new Boarding Pass represent the most monumental change in our loyalty card program since its creation and addresses all the desires we’ve heard from our guests when we asked them for a ‘wish list’ of their ideal players’ card program,” said Kevin Kelley, Chief Operating Officer for Station Casinos.

Guests can pick up their new Boarding Pass at any Rewards Center.  All points will be converted to the players’ advantage and merged into one card. New Boarding Pass card players who sign up for the card will get up to $500 in free slot play

The five status levels of the Boarding Pass program begins with Preferred as the first level and status grows to the Gold, Platinum and President levels with the highest level, Chairman.  President and Chairman level players will be given a personal casino host to ensure that all of their casino needs are met.

The roll out of the all-new Boarding Pass program is another example of the Company providing extraordinary and innovative promotions as recently seen with the launch of its “We Love Locals” program, bringing back the popular “Car a Day” promotion that awarded 220 cars throughout the month of February and the increased football contest prize pool from $1.4 million to $2 million in the long-standing “Great Giveaway” promotion.

For additional details about the all-new Boarding Pass program, visit any Rewards Center at any Station Casinos’ property or visit www.mystation.com.

Top 10 Reasons to Check Out Desert Hops Beer Fest at GVR

UPDATE: 9.16.11

THIS PAST SATURDAY, I and a whole lotta other folks sipped, swilled, sampled and slurped over 150 brews at Seven Magazine’s Desert Hops Beer Fest. I have to congratulate everyone involved, especially Green Valley Ranch’s Event and Food & Beverage crews, and Station Casinos’ Nightlife gang because they threw one heckuva party.

With all of its different levels and spaces, GVR’s Backyard made for a perfect venue. And you couldn’t have asked for better weather. But to me, what put this bash over the top was the food! I had the white-truffle tater tots and grilled beef tenderloin from Hanks, and later grabbed meatball sausage sliders from Terra Verde. The BBQ from The Feast Buffet looked awesome, too.

As for the bevy of brews, I tried my best to make it though all 150+ (thank goodness I had a room). A few standouts were Big Dogs’ Red Ale, Anchor’s Brown Ale, Duvel Single and Sierra Nevada’s Southern Hemisphere. For me, the brew of the event was Barley’s Black Mountain. Nice and rich. The former Apprentice Brewer who’s been recently promoted to Master Brewer has already made a positive impact on the whole Barley’s line.

Again, well done all!

What were some of your favorites?

Cheers,
Jeff Perry
Sr. Ad Writer, Station Casinos

SOME OF YOU have already purchased your tickets for the first Desert Hops Beer Festival, but some of you might need a little more information (or prodding) to grab yours before they sell out. We’re giving you our Top 10 Reasons to Check Out the Beer Fest at GVR this weekend; but you might only need one!

  1. Unlimited sampling of 150 international beers. Unlike other festivals, we’re not putting a limit on your taste buds – or, ahem – sobriety. Try as much as you like, and then try more!
  2. Pre-sale tickets are only $30. That’s what you spend on 3 beers + tip on any Saturday on the Strip! At the Desert Hops Beer Festival $30 will buy, well, as much as you like. (There’s reason #1 again…) Buy tickets at any Station Casinos Rewards Center and avoid processing fees, or purchase online at www.weeklyseven.com/beerfest.
  3. Been wanting to try out all of the amazing restaurants at Green Valley Ranch but haven’t had the money, the time, or the babysitter? You can sample bites from five fabulous restaurants including: Sushi Sake, Terra Verde, Feast, Hank’s, and Tides. Bites won’t break the bank either, all restaurants are offering treats for $2 – $6.
  4. It’s outside! Been living like a vampire all summer because of the intense desert heat? What better way to celebrate the finally beautiful weather than with an ice cold brew, or 10?
  5. Anchor Steam, Liberty Ale, Breckle’s Brown, Dog Fish Head, Nectar Hemp Ale, Old Rasputin, Icky IPA, Pyramid Heff, Asahi, Original Cask, Spaten Dunkel, Monty Python, Foret Organic, Shipyard Pumpkin, Lindemans FGramboise, Piraat… Need we say more? Check out the full list of beers at www.weeklyseven.com/beerfest.
  6. The man in your life will worship you – at least for the weekend. Men love beer. Men especially love enormous backyards with lots of beer. Remember the “happy place” in Billy Madison? This is just like that. We promise.
  7. Not a beer connoisseur? No problem! There are plenty of go-tos on the list that can be sampled all night. And at this festival, no need to fear the unknown! If you don’t like something just move on to the next. That “unlimited sampling” thing we have going on is pretty amazing.
  8. In the market for a new car, truck, or motorcycle? Check out Land Rover’s latest models in the Land Rover Amphitheater at the backside of the backyard. Just don’t drive it home tonight!
  9. $99 Room Rates at GVR. Who wouldn’t want to turn a beer celebration into a full night at Green Valley Ranch? Spend the night, enjoy the Desert Hops Beer Fest consequence free and spend your saved cab fare on #10….
  10. TWO Official Afterparties! A beer fest this good deserves celebration, and we’re doing it right but continuing the party at the Lobby Bar and with Steel Panther at Ovation. Personally, we’re choosing both. Want to book the table right next to us? Call 702.617.7075

A Guest Blogger’s Perfect Night Out Under the Stars

SO AS A Vegas local its not often that we get to enjoy quality concerts outdoors at night. Up until this point we have only had one on-Strip option for this and it has its drawbacks. So much to my surprise Red Rock Casino invested a lot of resources into building an outdoor concert stage and a really dynamic lineup. It’s still a surprise to me that this entire experience isn’t on the strip.

So depending on the size of the audience for their summer concert series the show is either out by the pool or in the newly built outdoor arena. The night I ventured out featured The Gypsy Kings and was out by the pool. Walking out to the pool area I suddenly realized that there probably wasn’t a more perfect venue for this show. A concert under the stars is a fun and unique experience which if you haven’t done yet you simply aren’t living. There was ample space and the sound was great. It seemed natural that this should be the place for shows like this.

The other big perk was the seating options! You can take a seat and lounge by the pool, you can sit on a raised area overlooking the entire event, or sit in a tiered seating area in front of the stage. Quite honestly there seemed to be only one drawback and that would be all the bars are cash only. So if you venture out, and lets be honest you should, make sure you hit the ATM before going in.

Now I have spent this entire time gushing on the venue but, I should say something about The Gypsy Kings. Never can I recall seeing such a diverse crowd in one place. Their music was great and everyone was having a blast. Personally my only let down is they didn’t play their version of “You got a friend in me” from Toy Story 3 but, lets be honest I doubt that was going to happen. It was really a great night with a perfect combination of place, people, and music.
