World Hip Hop Dance Championships 2012 return to Red Rock

At the very same time the Olympics are taking place in London, the world’s best street dancers from 42 nations will be at Red Rock Casino Resort & Spa in Las Vegas to compete in an event many participants refer to as the “Olympics of Hip Hop Dance.”

Events will start next Monday and Tuesday with the Prelims and Finals of the USA Hip Hop Dance Championship.  At the World Hip Hop Dance Championship opening ceremonies on August 1 at Red Rock Resort & Casino, dance crews will carry the flags of their nations with pride.

And even though hip hop dance has its origins in the United States, the nation has never won the World Championship in its history.  With defending USA Champions Elektrolytes (recent winners of America’s Best Dance Crew) set to compete, will this be the year that the United States will prevail?
