Las Vegas Concert Calendar for the Summer at Red Rock

May 13 – Sean Kingston (NOTE: this concert has been moved inside to Rocks Lounge)

Born in the U.S. but raised in Jamaica gives Sean Kingston the background for his mix of hip hop and dancehall reggae. Kingston’s second single, “Beautiful Girls,” soared through the charts to No. 1 at only 16 years old. He’s also had Top 10 hits with the songs “Take You There” and “Fire Burning.” tickets to Sean Kingston

May 27 – Barenaked Ladies

The Barenaked Ladies had risen in popularity and throughout the music charts in Canada before making the move to the U.S. Once they did, the band soared up the mainstream charts with several Top 5 hits, including “It’s All Been Done,” “One Week” and “Pinch Me,” among others. tickets to Barenaked Ladies

June 3 – Goo Goo Dolls

The Goo Goo Dolls released several albums before becoming a well-known name, but once they did, they blew up. Songs like “Name,” “Slide,” “Better Days” and “Give A Little Bit” all were Top 5 hits and “Iris” and “Black Balloon” received Grammy nominations. tickets to Goo Goo Dolls

June 10 – O.A.R.

The band O.A.R., short for Of A Revolution, got their start as classmates at Ohio State University in the late ’90s. It didn’t take long before they were headlining gigs and made a national name for themselves on the jam band and mainstream circuit. Songs like “That Was a Crazy Game of Poker,” “Love and Memories,” “Heard the World” and “Shattered” have provided the band with a consistent fan base throughout today. tickets to O.A.R.

June 17 – Steel Pulse

British reggae band Steel Pulse incorporates the best of roots rock reggae while fusing it with elements of Latin and jazz music. Throughout its career, the band has received multiple Grammy nominations for albums like Victims, that featured the single “Taxi Driver,” as well as Rastafari Centennial and Rage and Fury. They also won a Grammy for the album Babylon the Bandit that features the song “Not King James Version.” tickets to Steel Pulse

June 24 – Gavin DeGraw

Singer songwriter Gavin DeGraw got what seemed slow, but was a sure start in the music scene following the release of his debut album Chariot in 2003. He gained a small following in New York the year it was released, but by 2004, DeGraw had a Top 10 hit with the single “I Don’t Want to Be” off the album. The album was then re-released as Chariot + Stripped where the original title track “Chariot” soared through the charts and the album earned double platinum certification. He continued to have hit songs, including “Follow Through” and “In Love with a Girl.” tickets to Gavin DeGraw

July 1 – Grace Potter & The Nocturnals

Grace Potter and the Nocturnals are like a modern-day version of Tina Turner stroking the microphone in a spangled mini-dress while fronting the Rolling Stones circa Sticky Fingers. The proof is there for all to hear on the band’s third album for Hollywood Records, hitting Spring 2010, and marks an artistic breakthrough for a vital young band caught in the act of fulfilling its immense promise. Little wonder that Grace and her cohorts have chosen to title it, directly and emphatically, Grace Potter and the Nocturnals. tickets to Grace Potter

July 8 – Puddle of Mudd

The alt-metal quartet Puddle of Mudd has several hit songs to its name, including “Blurry,” “Drift & Die,” “She Hates Me” and “Away From Me,” among others. The band has continuously released albums, with the most recent Icon: The Best of Puddle of Mudd in November 2010. tickets to Puddle of Mudd

July 15 – Neon Trees

Like their name, Neon Trees are a combination of slick pop hooks and sturdy organic rock, both melodic and hard-hitting, their anthems of adolescent angst, longing, love lost and found, delivered with the kind of heart-on-the-sleeve passion that only comes from hard work and commitment. tickets to Neon Trees

July 29 – Lifehouse

The alt-metal quartet Puddle of Mudd has several hit songs to its name, including “Blurry,” “Drift & Die,” “She Hates Me” and “Away From Me,” among others. The band has continuously released albums, with the most recent Icon: The Best of Puddle of Mudd in November 2010. tickets to Lifehouse

August 5 – Weezer

Weezer first hit the music scene in the mid-’90s and has been a driving force ever since. With initial singles like “Undone (The Sweater Song),” “Buddy Holly” and “Say it Ain’t So,” they became a household name. The band has gone on hiatus several times throughout the years for members to work on side projects. They joined forces once again and the 2005 song “Beverly Hills” off the album Make Believe received platinum status, keeping Weezer that household name. tickets to Weezer

Las Vegas Concerts During NFR (Hotel Deals and Other Cowgirl Fun)

Easton Corbin (left) has back-to-back concerts on Dec. 3 & 4. Troy Olsen's free shows at Santa Fe Station are Dec. 10 & 11.

IF YOU’RE COMING to town for the 2010 National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas (or you live here, or just happen to be visiting Vegas in early December, or if you’re now suddenly thinking about coming), here’s a few points of interest from us here at Station Casinos.

The first of two consecutive nights of Easton Corbin concerts is Friday, Dec. 3 at Boulder Station.

Santa Fe Station is holding three nights of concerts during NFR that Country music fans might enjoy.

It just happens that one of the best Country bars in Las Vegas, Revolver Saloon and Dance Hall, is also at Santa Fe Station (see some pictures to the right). Revolver is open Wednesday through Saturday at 8pm until everyone leaves with line-dancing, drink specials and ass-kicking (only a little, it’s a nice place).

It also just happens that NFR is going on during one of our best Las Vegas hotel deals.

Lastly, keep in mind that one of the stops of the Free WNFR Shuttle Buses is at Palace Station.

Have a question about anything Las Vegas during NFR, let us know below!

Las Vegas Concerts: Ted Nugent & Smokey Robinson at GVR

What are the odds? Two music legends. Both from Detroit. Both playing at the same arena within a few of weeks of one another.

That’s the deal when Rock n’ Roll idol Ted Nugent takes the stage at Green Valley Ranch’s Grand Events Center on Saturday, Jan. 23. Then, on Saturday, Feb. 13, R&B icon Smokey Robinson plays at GVR . The SC Blog also thinks this is awesome: although neither blogs, both are into Social Media. Cool, right? Even cooler, Green Valley Ranch, one of the coolest  hotel casinos in Las Vegas, is offering individual Las Vegas hotel packages for both shows (see links below).

Las Vegas Comedy: Tanyalee Davis Christmas Show at Bonkerz

tanyaleedavis

The little lady with a lot of BIG laughs

December 24 – 26 at Bonkerz Comedy Club

Tanyalee was seen on MTV’s BASH and the Dave Attel’s Insomniac show: Live at the House of Blues. Tanyalee’s perception of people, and how they perceive her, exaggerates the humor of life’s “little” tasks and routines. One theme in Tanyalee’s act is about being sexy. The sexy comes from within, which means everyone can be sexy and Tanyalee proves it. Tanyalee has made a small yet significant dent in the entertainment scene thus far, headlining throughout the U.S., Canada and the U.K. What she lacks in height she makes up in tenacity. Known as “the little lady with a lot of BIG laughs,” Tanyalee has also been featured on Chelsea Lately and “Little People Big World.”
