Station Casinos’ Las Vegas Football Parlay Cards

UPDATE: We “recycled” this post because, well, it’s football season and the info is still good with a little update. #@Tebow!

TO EACH HIS (or her) own. That’s what I say when it comes to betting on football in Las Vegas. At the end of the weekend, you’re the one who did the research and made the picks. You’re the one who has to live with the results. Maybe a little intense, but even the casual football bettor in Las Vegas has those moments of regret. I knew it. I shouldn’t have bet that. I should have bet more. What was I thinking? Any of this sound familiar?

Of course there are all types of bets and all kinds of bettors. You’ve seen them in the wagering lines and Sports Books at Station Casinos. Here’s my breakdown:

The Announcer: The guy who wants everyone to know what he’s got. He tells you in line and will even hand you his ticket so you can see. He’s usually the same guy pleading aloud to the screen/coach/nothing in particular during the games. Always excitable, The Announcer makes watching football at our Las Vegas Sports Books so much fun.

The Interrogator: The guy who’s always angling. Wants to know what you know. Rarely commits to a side before asking several opinions. The Interrogator rarely agrees or disagrees, just listens.

The Analyst: The guy who talks out every scenario during the game of how he could win, or lose, his game or ticket. Often optimistic, sometimes unrealistic, The Analyst is in it to win it until the end and often finds common occurrences, like a questionable referee call, to be “unbelievable.”

You can bet by phone and computer with a Sports Connection account

The Worrier: Could be concerned about a line movement. Could be concerned about the weather. Could be concerned about the backup punter. The Worrier loves to worry and we love him in the Sports Book for it.

The Scorekeeper: The guy who tells you his record for the day, weekend, season, often prefacing his statements with “I would be.” For example, “I would be 5-0 today if it wasn’t for those two overtime games.” Loves sports, loves statistics, The Scorekeeper always knows exactly how much money he’s up or down.

So-Close Guy: Usually amiable, the So-Close Guy just lost his second game in a row by the hook, or got six out of seven on a parlay card. So Close!

The Genius: Tells you all about the great run he’s been on. Never afraid to say things like “I told you” or “I’m tellin’ you,” The Genius seems to always be one step ahead.

The best thing about football season in the Station Casinos Sports Books is that we have action for everyone. No matter if you are an Interrogator or Worrier, we have a Las Vegas football parlay card for you.

Here are a few notes about our 13 Las Vegas football parlay cards:

  • The super exciting $1 Million (could you imagine) Football Parlay Cards come out Wednesday and Friday.
  • Most all of our other weekly parlay cards for football – Ties Win, ½ Point, Teasers – come out first thing Thursday morning.
  • And of course you can just bet a parlay over-the-counter if you like the current odds on the board best.

All together, Station Casinos has 13 ways to parlay. If you click on this little poster here it shows all 13. Best of luck!

STATION CASINOS’ GREAT GIVEAWAY RETURNS WITH $2 MILLION IN CASH AND PRIZES THAT INCLUDE TWO NEW HOMES

(Las Vegas, Nev.) – With football season around the corner, Great Giveaway, the largest prize pool in Nevada, is back for its 26th year with $2 million in cash and prizes including the popular “no lose” guarantee. Additionally, the popular Last Man Standing Pro and College Elimination football contests will offer up to $200,000 in cash prizes. Both football contests will now be available throughout 16 sports book locations including the following Station Casinos properties: Boulder Station, Green Valley Ranch, Palace Station, Red Rock Resort, Santa Fe Station, Sunset Station, Texas Station, the Fiestas, Wildfire properties, and the Station Casinos managed El Cortez sports book. There’s also no better place in town to watch and enjoy all of the excitement of professional and college football games than Station Casinos’ sports books. Back by popular demand, guests can enjoy $1 Budweiser beers and hot dogs during all Saturday, Sunday and Monday Games at all 16 locations.

$2 Million Great Giveaway Football Contest

The Station Casinos Great Giveaway Football Contest kicked off August 8 and is truly a “no risk” football season promotion allowing anyone who does not win any weekly or end of season prizes to receive the entry fee back (see details below).  A $25 entry fee registers players to compete for their share of $2 million in total cash and prizes including the opportunity to win one of two Dunhill Homes, a new Chevrolet Camaro or Silverado truck, or as an alternative to a vehicle, a cash prize of up to $20,000.

Voted “Best Football Contest” in Las Vegas 18 years in a row by the Las Vegas Review Journal, Great Giveaway offers the most payouts of any football contest in town.

Over the 17-week NFL season, Great Giveaway will award a total of $30,000 in prizes each week to players with the most wins or losses.  The contestant who picks the most season winners or losers will win a new Dunhill home valued at $225,000 or $100,000 cash. The popular “Fiddle in the Middle” returns with total cash prize winnings of $200,000 for selecting the equal number of wins and losses for the entire season.

There is a $25 fee per entry with no more than two paid entries per person allowed. Those who purchase two entries will receive a bonus third entry for free. Contestants may also use Boarding Pass points at Station Casinos, Fiesta or Wildfire Gaming properties, or Jackie’s Club Cortez points at El Cortez, for payment or partial payment of entries.

Contestants will also receive their entry fee back in free slot play if they do not win any weekly or end of season prizes.  Eligibility is based on paid entries only. Contestants must play all 17 weeks of the contest on all of their entries to be eligible for all prizes.

Contestants may submit weekly picks beginning August 24 at 10 a.m. for the $2 Million Great Giveaway with their Boarding Pass at any of the 15 Station Casinos’ sports book locations or at the El Cortez. For added convenience, easy-to-use computer kiosks at each location allow contestants to register their weekly picks 24-hours a day. Weekly standings may be checked online by heading to www.sclv.com. End of season results will be announced on January 7, 2013.

Last Man Standing Pro and College Elimination Football Contests

Contestants have the ability to win up to $200,000 in this year’s “winner takes all” Last Man Standing Elimination Football Contests available for both professional and college football. Last Man Standing is based on picking one winning football team against the contest line weekly at any Station Casinos sports book location including the Fiestas and Wildfire Gaming, or at the El Cortez.  Selections will be made against the point spread listed on the weekly contest card and if it is a winning selection, that entry will remain in the contest for the following week. The fee is $25 per entry. Each contestant may purchase up to four entries total with a fifth entry for free for both contests. The prize money will be awarded to the last contestant remaining. If the weekly selection is a losing selection or a contestant fails to submit a weekly selection, that entry will be eliminated. There will be no ties and all games will be half point spreads.

Last Man Standing may be played at any of the Station Casinos sports books including the Fiestas and Wildfire Gaming properties, and at the El Cortez. $75,000 will be the minimum guaranteed aggregate prize for the professional football contest and $25,000 will be the minimum guaranteed aggregate prize for the college football contest. 100 percent of all entry fees will be returned as prize money. Thursday, Friday and Saturday college football games may be included.

A $100,000 winner’s bonus will be awarded to a player who individually wins both the professional and college Last Man Standing contests.

The weekly contest card will be available in the sports books beginning Monday, September 3. The deadline for signing up is September 8 at 7 p.m. for the college football contest and by September 9 at 9 a.m. for the professional football contest to be eligible.

All Station Casinos’ football contestants must be 21 or older, present valid identification to participate and be a Boarding Pass, or Jackie’s Club Cortez cardholder.

Complete rules, details and prize redemption information for all of the football contests are available in the respective sports books at all participating properties. Management reserves all rights.  For more information about Station Casinos, visit www.sclv.com.

All Things ‘GG’ … that is, our Great Giveaway Football Contest

MANY THINGS ARE new for the upcoming pro football season, while many remain the same.

    • A certain brother quarterback combo is back: one leading the defending champs; the other at a whole new altitude.
    • Typically, quite a few teams have a new quarterback and/or coach; one team isn’t even allowed to have their head coach near the field for the entire year.
    • Wide receivers, young and old, will make headlines for ridiculous behavior, name changes and “not very well thought-out” tweets … actually, we very much enjoy all of this.

Here’s the NEW AND OLD for our Great Giveaway Las Vegas football contest in 2012-13

  • We still have the big-time weekly car/truck/cash winners, crazy end-of-season prizes, including the two houses, and the solid “No Lose” guarantee – all documented on the poster to the right here that gets bigger if you click on it.
  • We still have the website where you can check your record & winners/ losers each week: (coming soon) www.mygreatgiveaway.com
  • You’ll still be seeing lots of shiny new Chevrolet Silverados & Camaros all around Vegas with weekly Great Giveaway winners cruising in them. When you see one, just respect their football picking skills and step aside. (Dealerships listed below).
  • Great Giveaway entry fee is still $25 per/buy two get third free.
  • We have a facebook page that gets pretty fun the whole season long at www.facebook.com/mygreatgiveaway
  • We have a twitter account @SportsConnectLV, which is actually our online Sports Betting service but we do a lot of Great Giveaway stuff on there so please follow.
  • $1 Dog, $1 Buds and $1 Bud Lights are back every Saturday, Sunday and Monday during the games.
  • The carts are now also loaded with $3 Red Bulls and Sugar Free Red Bulls.
  • GG is still the best football contest in Las Vegas.
  • I’m going to write “GG” instead of Great Giveaway this year and hope it becomes a hashtag (#GG) that Lady Gaga tweets, but mostly just because I’m lazy.

The real reason, however, we will have this running blog (reverse-order, newest to latest) here all football year is to field any questions during the season about GG (already paying off), our Last Man Standing football contest, betting, parlay cards, Sugar Free Red Bull and who exactly is refereeing the pro games this year.

If you have any questions, please let us know below! Have a great season!

After a bye week, Wild Bill is back for Week 8

Posted 10:51am on 10.24.12

Easiest. Week. Ever.

  • 841, a record as far as we know, went undefeated at 12-0. Tie-breaker winner gets car/truck/cash option, everyone else get $11.95 (ha) … but, hey, you can say you are a Great Giveaway Weekly Winner!
  • 173, also a record as far as we know, went winless with the tie-breaker winner getting $5,000 and 172 others pocketing $29.10 … needless to say, the Monday total tie-breaker never more important than this week (and it fooled most everyone with the game totaling 20).
  • For the season/houses, one player at 73-24 has a two-game lead over six others. On the “Most Losers” end, one has a one-game lead over six others at 26-71.

Check your Great Giveaway records here

It’s crunch time for Last Man Standing, the pro contest is down to 26 folks going for $99,650 and in college 18 left bidding for $53,625. Best of luck. Check it here.

Lot’s of tough calls in Week 6 made for super great paydays for the winners:

  • Four players went undefeated with the tie-breaker winner getting the car/truck/cash option and the three others taking home $3,333.35 each. Overall for the house: one player is alone in first at 63-22.
  • Three players went winless, tie-breaker winner getting $5,000 and other two $2,500 … all very nice payouts. Congrats! Overall for the house, one player is in first/last at 23-62.

Our Last Man Standing contests are getting serious. Both the pro and college contests have less than 50 players left. Check it here.

Wild Bill looks to rebound from an 0-3 Week with new graphics in his picks video:

Posted 2:36pm on 10.3.12

  • First week back with the real refs got us two touchdowns worth of undefeated players with the tie-breaker winner getting the car/truck/cash option and the other 13 getting $555.60 each.
  • Just five folks went winless with a $5,000 winner and four $1,250. Pet Peeve Alert: I say this every year, but going for losers is sometimes – oftentimes – more profitable than winners and less competitive.

Check your Great Giveaway record here

  • As for our Last Man Standing contest: in the pro football edition 263 are left and in college 110. Not that excited yet. Congrats to those still “standing” but this contest always goes on for at least five more weeks.

Check out the Last Man Standing poster here

One more thing, we hold a Monday football contest every week on our Great Giveaway or Station Casinos facebook page where if you pick the winner and total best you win two free buffets.

  • Thanks to the replacement refs, 5 players went 14-1 with the tie-breaker winner getting the car/truck/cash option and the other four taking home $2,500 apiece. Thank you replacement refs.
  •  2 folks, thanks to the replacement refs, went winless at 0-15, each getting $5,000. Very nice payouts for all this week!

From www.mygreatgiveaway.com, but you already knew that.

Week 2 results are in, and one person (we think his name is Zachary because he is on our facebook page claiming to be the lone winner but we have no way to really verify) went undefeated … yes, was going for winners and had Arizona.

Here’s the Week 2 breakdown, and, as always, all the results are at www.mygreatgiveaway.com:

  • As mentioned, 1 person (possibly Zach) went 15-0 and gets the car/truck/cash option. As the image above shows 80 people went 14-1. We say 78 of them had New England. Not going to get into season overall records until later in the year but it’s under the “Standings” tab on the web site.
  • 62 folks went 1-14 with the tie-breaker winner getting $5,000 and the other 62 taking $80.65 … not the greatest haul but a win’s, a win, za win.
  • Last Man Standing pro is down to 1,096 (from 2,591 after Week 1, from 4,850 to start the season). Again, $99,650 on the line in the winner-takes-all contest.
  • LMS college is already down to 483 (from 1,278, from 2,611 total). Winner = $53,625. See LMS posters.

Week 1 results are in! I went 9-6 on two entries (not even sure how that happens) and 6-9 on the third, which I know how that happened as I reverse one of the others. But like the championship New York Blue team I will not be discouraged by Week 1.

Here’s the winners recap, and of course all the results are at www.mygreatgiveaway.com:

  • Just two people went 15-0, nice Washington pick by the way. The tie-breaker winner gets the car/truck/cash option and the other gets $10,000 all to him/herself, which is the best scenario for the runner-up … you don’t get the auto or $20,000 option but there’s no one to split the second-place money with … nice!
  • 16 folks went 1-14 with the tie-breaker winner getting $5,000 and the other 15 taking $333.35 … not bad.
  • In our Last Man Standing pro competition, the field has been cut almost in half (from 4,850 to 2,591), which, if you have played in past years, is pretty typical. The winner-take-all prize for LMS pro this year almost made six figures = $99,650. Wow, Wow!
  • LMS college got more than halved (2,611 to 1,278) … prize money is $53, 625. Also, Wow! View LMS posters.

Not Great Giveaway but Last Man Standing need-to-knows … and a few comments:

  • Got to be in it to win it by Sept. 8 (college) and Sept. 9 (pro) … don’t wait until the last weekend
  • It’s $25 for one entry/5 entries for $100 … if your a team player it’s a good contest to split with a friend, you both get two shots and the free 5th can be a consensus pick between both or your cat’s pick or whatever
  • It’s winner-takes-all (guaranteed) $25,000 for college and $75,000 pro … for the past few seasons, at least, the prize money has been more than the guaranteed amounts
  • Get ready for a long season: the college and pro winners from the past couple seasons have lasted at least through Week 10

Good luck!

The UFC returns to Calgary this Saturday for UFC 149 Faber vs. Barao. This fight card has been plagued with injuries, with 9 of the originally planned fights having been affected by injury. In his own words, Dana White called this event with all it’s twists and turns “the craziest of all time. “Just a handful of the big names that will NOT  be fighting include Jose Aldo, Antonio Nogueira, Mauricio Rua, Michael Bisping, Thiago Alves, Thiago Silva….  getting the picture? The 20,000 seat Saddledome (home of the Calgary Flames) is likely to still be substantially full, however. You see, Canadians are not at all averse to a good brawl, on or off the ice.

The solution? Former featherweight title holder Urijah Faber will take a second shot at the bantamweight belt. This time it’s the interim strap and the opponent is Renan Barão, a streaking Brazilian with an astounding 28-1 record. Faber has long been a fan favorite for his relentless “take no prisoners” fighting style and numerous Fight Of The Night performances. He’s won a fair portion of his current following from incredibly gutsy outings…. going 4-1/2 rounds with a broken hand against Mike Brown at WEC 41 comes immediately to mind.

So an exciting main event is a virtual given at 149, but will it be enough to make this a memorable night of fights? MMA is first and foremost an unpredictable phenomenon, hence the addictive appeal which has helped fuel the UFC on it’s way to overtaking boxing, all other conventional combat sports, and several mainstream sports. It’s impossible to say whether or not 149 can come anywhere close to the epic intensity of it’s predecessor 148, but the 2012 version of the UFC is one with an incredibly deep pool of fighters. This allows the company to compensate when a plague of injuries erupts.

Dana White (with a fair amount of help from matchmaker Joe Silva) has become a master of filling the proverbial “holes in the dam,” and in the case of UFC 149 the mission appears to be accomplished by plugging in quite a few fighters known for their crowd pleasing “all or nothing” fight styles. The 31-2-1 Hector Lombard goes against the 15-4 “Barbarian” Tim Boetsch in a middleweight bout that can’t possibly disappoint , and the always willing “stand and trade” banger Cheick Kongo (who weighed in at a substantial 240 lbs.) takes on a truly massive heavyweight in Shawn Jordan. Jordan is 13-3 and weighed in at 260 lbs. That’s a big dude.

The balance of the card is filled with second tier names, but all the kind of fighters that we’ve been looking forward to seeing again. Court McGee takes on Nick Ring, Matt Riddle takes on Chris Clements at 170lbs., and the 50-14-1 veteran Brian Ebersole goes against the 8-2 James Head (also at welterweight).

Six bouts will be broadcast for free via Facebook and the FX Network, while the main card will be broadcast exclusively via Pay-Per-View. It should be another a great night of Professional MMA! Where will you be watching?

Biggest fight of the year? No doubt. Where will you be watching? If you’re lucky enough to get your hands on a ticket to the live event, we highly suggest not messing around and getting to the arena for this historic fight! The next best thing if you haven’t locked down your seat is one of Station Casinos 6 Fight Parties throughout the Las Vegas Valley! It all goes down on Saturday, as if this week didn’t have enough blockbusters in store with UFC International Fight Week in town and a little hush hush party we’re throwing for the nation’s birthday on the 4th of July! (Tweet #sclv4th!)  Oooh, this is gonna’ be good!

Dedicated fight fans won’t need any back story for this one, but this is a fight that even non-fight fans are going to tune into in record numbers. It’s likely that quite a few converts are going to be made this Saturday, as was the case after the now iconic Silva vs Sonnen I on August 7, 2010. For the uninitiated (and for fight freaks who just can’t get enough) here’s the nutshell version of this historic rivalry:

What do you get when you combine the universally accepted greatest MMA fighter of All-Time with an acid-tongued fight promoting savant who just happens to be the inarguable top contender for the Middleweight strap? Staying on theme, you get fireworks the likes of which Francis Scott Key could only dream about! The world witnessed something truly stunning in Silva vs Sonnen I. The world’s best fighter was thrown around like a proverbial ragdoll for 23 minutes before pulling off the most unlikely of come from behind submission victories in the history of the sport.

It was in fact the latest submission victory in a 5-Rounder (and therefore in any UFC fight since the modern definition of ‘Rounds’), and it cemented Anderson Silva as truly one of the greatest combat fighters in history. Silva’s skills were never in question. That his heart could match the level of his remarkable talent was the revelation. It was disappointing news to Chael Sonnen too, who despite his campaign as the ‘People’s Champ’ virtually since the day after their first meeting, was clearly thoroughly dumbfounded and crushed by the late reversal of fortune.

What makes this fight so highly anticipated? Given that the Champion Silva not only defended successfully against Sonnen once already, and reportedly did so while battling a severe rib injury, is it odd that this clash is viewed by many to be a uniquely interesting match-up? One need look no further than Hall of Famer Randy Couture’s recent analysis, in which he identified an unusual role reversal for a championship bout. Given the manner in which Sonnen completely dominated the first fight for better than four rounds (despite losing), it is Silva that has more adjustments to make going into Saturday’s rematch.

That’s an interesting take, and Couture knows a thing or two about rematches and championships! Couture’s analysis may prove spot on, but one thing is for certain: if Chael Sonnen is not Anderson Silva’s Kryptonite, he’s real darn close. Styles make fights as they say, and unfortunately for Silva (fortunately for us), he is forced to prove himself one more time against the man that landed more strikes on him in 23 minutes than all of his 15 previous opponents combined. Is Chael Sonnen that strong of a contender, or does he simply provide the worst possible stylistic match-up for the future Hall-of-Fame bound Silva, the longest reigning champion in the history of the sport?

All these questions and more will be answered this Saturday night at UFC 148! If the Middleweight Title fight wasn’t enough excitement for one event, Forrest Griffin is throwing a retirement party for Tito Ortiz the same night, and Patrick Cote will go against Cung Le. It’s a big weekend for the UFC, with back to back cards this Friday and Saturday. It gets going with UFC on FX: Maynard vs. Guida, a free fight card that is packed with all but certain fireworks in the Main Event and throughout. The final match of the Sam Stout vs. Spencer Fisher trilogy is a guaranteed barnburner too. Fan favorites Ross Pearson, Cub Swanson, Matt Brown, Dan Miller and Rick Story are all scheduled to fight.  This free UFC on FX fight card can be viewed at any Station Casinos Sports book. Don’t miss it!

On Saturday night, an epic rematch is set for a live from Brazil Pay-Per-View, UFC 147: Silva vs. Franklin II. Despite suffering the disappointment of yet another high profile fight being disrupted due to injury (Silva’s initial opponent Vitor Belfort withdrew), the UFC has yet again turned lemons into ‘Mike’s Hard Lemonade’ by replacing Belfort with an equally big name and equally dangerous veteran in Franklin.

The change of plans has also resulted in an unusual catch-weight scenario (a rare 190 lbs limit), one that fits Franklin’s ‘modus operandi’ to a tee, yet should be no hindrance whatever to Wanderlei who fought well for many years above his more natural 185 division. Franklin is seen as the ideal 190-195 pounder, and a likely champion of that hypothetical division were it to exist.

This 5 rounder is unlikely to go that long, so be careful about your bathroom breaks. Each fighter has KO power and the tenacity to stand and trade at the highest level, so a decision is unlikely. There’s a lot at stake for each, with many armchair warriors having called for ‘Wand’ to call it a day for several years now (out of admiration, not disrespect in most cases).

Franklin is not exactly in that territory yet with several extremely impressive performances in the last 3 years, but Franklin still is edging toward his curtain call with the unlikelihood of his returning to 185 lbs and very little chance of winning a title at 205 lbs (where champions nowadays tend to ‘walk around’ at 230 lbs).

Despite the obstacles, with a decisive win either man can become an extremely hot commodity at either 185 or 205lbs, just ask Dan Henderson who performed exactly that ‘back from the dead’ trick with just 2 impressive wins over top names.

As expected, the balance of the card is dominated by Brazilian fighters. It is after all broadcasting from Belo Horizonte, Brazil. Fight fans will recognize ‘Top 10’ Heavyweight Fabricio Werdum in the co-main event as he undertakes a serious test against Mike Russow.  A ton of up and coming Brazilian killers fill out the card. The casual fan will not recognize the names of many of these South American maulers, but the skill level of all is ‘par-excellence’.

UFC 147: Silva vs. Franklin II Live on PPV from Brazil will be shown at 5 separate Fight Parties throughout the Las Vegas Valley. See the Station Casinos Fight Party list below and choose your favorite spot to watch all the live action go down on Saturday night!

UFC 146 Viewing Parties in Las Vegas

UFC 146 Dos Santos  vs. Mir is the second card of a string of 4 of the biggest MMA fight cards the UFC has ever presented back to back (to back to back) on pay-per-view. UFC 145 saw an epic grudge match come to a head with former best friends Jon Jones and Rashad Evans going the 5 round distance. The Champion Jones kept his title. Coming in June at UFC 147, 2 legends of the sport face off in Brazil. Vitor Belfort and Wanderlei Silva are arguably 2 of the top 10 fighters of all-time. They are unquestionably 2 of the all-time fan favorites.

On July 7th we are likely to get what is to be the most talked about card of 2012, as the rematch between Middleweight Champion Anderson Silva and #1 contender Chael Sonnen has been in the works since the very moment of the dramatic conclusion to their first 5 round war. After losing badly for 4 rounds, the champ Silva dug deep (as champions do) to pull out a miraculous win with a late 5th round triangle choke. To call it memorable would be an understatement. Silva vs. Sonnen II  UFC 148 should fittingly have a ton of fireworks.

Sandwiched in the middle of this spring-summer UFC blitz is the only MMA Heavyweight Championship match that really matters, that between current champ Junior Dos Santos and 2 time former champion Frank Mir (sorry Strikeforce). This match is not short on drama itself, as multiple injuries and run-ins with the testosterone police have resulted in a much different looking fight card then what was initially proposed for UFC 146. Regardless of all that, Dos Santos is the undisputed #1, and Mir is a legitimate threat to steal his title. Adding to the storyline is the fact that Mir’s recent surge was topped with a devastating (and injurious) win over Dos Santos hero and mentor, Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira.

Who will you be rooting for: the Las Vegas local Frank Mir or the Brazilian Junior Dos Santos? Where will you be watching? There is nothing like a Heavyweight title match in the UFC!

The exciting lineup of fights this Saturday also includes several more big name heavyweights including top contenders Cain Velasquez and Antonio Silva. Fan favorite Roy Nelson takes on Dave Herman, and Stefan Struve goes against rising star Lavar Johnson. For the full fight card click the banner at the very bottom.

UFC 145 Viewing Parties in Las Vegas

UFC 145 JONES vs. Evans is one of the most anticipated MMA cards of 2012 and might only be surpassed for the year in terms of buzz by the upcoming June rematch between the world’s greatest fighter Anderson Silva and his constant foil, Chael Sonnen.

Jones vs. Evans is in no short supply of drama in its own right. With a long history as teammates, a very public falling out and subsequent bad blood, UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones has ample motivation to protect his title from the former Champ in Rashad Evans.

The exciting lineup of fights also includes an intriguing heavyweight match between Brendan Schaub and Ben Rothwell, a meaningful bout for the title picture in the Welterweight division between Rory MacDonald and Che Mills, as well as a return to the fold bout for former WEC Bantamweight Champ (and recent UFC pariah) Miguel Torres.

Former TUF contestants Matt Brown and Mac Danzig also make return appearances against Stephen Thompson and Efrain Escudero, respectively. Don’t miss another stacked UFC Pay Per View Card and one of the most significant title bouts of 2012 when UFC 145 goes live this Saturday.
