Largest Multi-Property Linked Pai Gow Progressive in Southern Nevada

7-Card Straight Flush! Edward hit the Progressive jackpot for $200,922 a mere 6 hours after launch at Palace Station.

LAS VEGAS – Following a successful trial that linked Pai Gow progressive jackpots at gaming tables at Sunset Station and Red Rock Resort, the progressive expanded February 1 to include all 10 Station Casinos and Fiesta properties including Aliante Station, Boulder Station, Fiesta Henderson, Fiesta Rancho, Green Valley Ranch resort, Palace Station, Red Rock Resort, Santa Fe Station, Sunset Station and Texas Station. The additional properties give Station Casinos the largest multi-property linked Pai Gow progressive in Southern Nevada, which results in higher jackpots.

The expansion of the program means jackpots will start higher, grow faster and players will hit more often with more than 30 tables that are linked company-wide. The beginning jackpot after all properties connected was more than $200,000. Less than seven hours after the progressive was linked to Palace Station, which is coincidentally the final property to be connected, a Virginia man hit that progressive jackpot with a 7-card straight-flush that included a joker. With any regular bet, players become eligible for the progressive with a side bet of only $1. The progressive is won with a seven card straight-flush with or without a joker. The jackpot is once again over $200,000 as of the release date.

Players at Station Casinos can also win 10% of the progressive jackpot with a winning hand of five aces. The initial linked Pai Gow progressive involving Sunset Station and Red Rock Resort was a pilot performed in partnership with ShuffleMaster that began in October. As a result of the program’s success and popularity, Station Casinos expanded it to 10 properties allowing the opportunity for greater jackpots at more locations throughout the Valley.

Nice Rides! Car-A-Day Giveaway is Back

LAS VEGAS – Station Casinos will give away 200 cars and $400,000 in cash February 10-29 during its “$5 Million Car-A-Day Giveaway” promotion. All 10 Station Casinos and Fiesta locations (Aliante Station, Boulder Station, Fiesta Henderson, Fiesta Rancho, Green Valley Ranch resort, Palace Station, Red Rock Resort, Santa Fe Station, Sunset Station and Texas Station) will each give away one car per day during the 20 day promotional period. The $5 million giveaways in 2011 and 2012 are the largest promotions in Station Casinos’ history.

Generous promotions with cars are a long standing tradition with Station Casinos that date back to the company’s founder, Frank Fertitta Jr., who created the original “Car A Day in May” promotion. In the 70’s and 80’s, Fertitta saw many casinos tout a single car as a prize, but rarely were they given away. He created the “Car A Day In May” promotion with a commitment to create several winners by giving one car to a customer each day of that month. The company, now run by his sons, expanded Fertitta’s legacy by reviving this idea and expanding it last year to a promotion worth millions of dollars and an opportunity for guests to win a car a day at multiple properties.

Drawings for the “$5 Million Car-A-Day Giveaway” car winner will be held daily, beginning February 10, at 8:15 p.m. in each casino. Vehicle winners will be able to choose from four select Chevrolet models: Camaro, Sonic, Silverado and Cruze. In addition to one car winner each night, four $500 cash winners will be drawn at each location, which breaks down to a total of 50 big wins each day across Southern Nevada. When the contest is completed, there will be a total of 1,000 wins guaranteed from the promotion. Winners do not have to be present at the drawing, but prizes must be claimed within 24 hours.

The contest eligibility period for members of the free Boarding Pass rewards program begins on February 6. Entries are good all month long and must be activated by swiping rewards cards at Boarding Pass kiosks by 8 p.m. Members of the program will get one entry for every 50 slot points earned at any Station Casinos or Fiesta location. Additional entries may be earned by playing table games, live poker, bingo and with select race and sports wagers. Boarding Pass members will also receive 10 free entries daily February 10-29 just for swiping their cards at a Boarding Pass kiosk.

Chowder Bowl! Football Parties in Las Vegas for the Big Game

IT’S REALLY ALL about the food … and the drinks, and the TV commercials, the prop bets, the game itself, too … but mostly about the food.

5-hour game? That's a lot of Dogs!

Football nirvana is in two Sundays and we’re readying for our Las Vegas Big Game parties. Now, there are only two teams left, of course, and based on the famous foods of their cities/states/areas, as well as the point spread in the Sports Book, it’s a tough call as to which team will be the champion.

Let’s break it down.

  • New York/New Jersey … hot dogs with sauerkraut and yellow, no, make that deli mustard preferably bought off some cart on a sidewalk, best pizza (undebatable, sorry), maybe a hot pastrami or knish, Manhattan clam chowder, and a fancy drink like a Cosmopolitan or Manhattan (oh, that works).
  • New England/Boston … New England clam chowder, baked beans, cream pie, Johnnycakes, lobster, Ye Olde _____, and Sam Adams.

For the record, we like New England clam chowder over Manhattan, but wethinks New York will win the championship and parade the trophy around a parking lot in northern New Jersey.

Here are our parties and promotions and we’ll keep adding details as we get closer to the Big Game football Sunday in Las Vegas.

What’s your fave football food? What’s the better chowder? What’s your favorite prop in the Sports Book? Have any questions, let us know below!

at Red Rock

VIP Package at Red Rock Sports Book Lounge.

If you’re gonna go big (and, hey, Sunday’s a great time to go BIG) then the Sports Book Lounge at Red Rock has a VIP package available that includes everything awesome (food, drink, a personal attendant) with four of the best seats in the house.

It’s like having No. 12′s life for eight hours.

Details and the reservations phone number on the poster here to the right.

Here’s Jason from the Sports Book. Oh yeah, he’s amped …

at Aliante Station

Doors at 1pm at Access.

The Access Showroom at Aliante Station is one of the best places in Las Vegas to watch the Big Game. (It’s actually one of the best places to watch concerts, too, if you’ve never been.)

The screens are huge and the sound system is state-of-the-art.

On Big Game Sunday, Access has free admission with “Stadium” food and drinks available including bottles and buckets.

at Fiesta Henderson

Tacos & Tequila Tailgate!

At the Sports Book at Fiesta Henderson a $20 bet on the game gets you entered in a drawing to win cool stuff like jerseys. A $20 wager on game day Sunday gets you a commemorative football.

Now, as for food, in the Sports Book they’ll have a special football food menu that includes wings, dogs, pizza and nachos (now we’re talking). And, and, over at Amigo’s they have an All-You-Can-Eat Tacos & Tequila Tailgate (love it) menu, which you can view to the right here.

at Fiesta Rancho

Public viewing of the game will be at the Sports Book, Cabo Lounge and throughout the casino.

at Santa Fe Station

UPDATE: This is over, the winner was announced: On our Santa Fe Station facebook page, you can enter (before Jan. 31, 2012) to win a VIP Booth for up to 5 people at the Race & Sports Book Lounge for the Big Game on Sunday.

A randomly chosen winner will receive:

  • VIP Seating for the Big Game
  • Up to 36 Beers
  • 2 Pizzas
  • Chicken Wings
  • Chips & Salsa

Winner will be notified via email on Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2012. All in winner’s party must be 21+ with valid ID.

Along with the Sports Book at Santa Fe, everyone can watch at the 4949 Lounge as well as any casino bar.

Here’s a little knowledge from Race & Sports Director Wild Bill …

at Texas Station

Super "Bowl"ing, get it?

We got a second-chance drawing where any losing parlay bet (minimum of $20), made from January 31 – February 5, can be entered into a drawing where four folks will win $250. Drawing will be held after the Big Game, so if you got a losing parlay ticket don’t rip it up in disgust but rather drop it into the drawing drum with your Boarding Pass number.

More fun during the Big Game at Texas Station Lanes with special bowling rates, coupons, food and drink and half-time super specials. Check out this image to the right here for details.

at Green Valley Ranch

The rowdy crowd will be at the Lobby Bar (downstairs near the Lobby, as the name implies) starting at 1pm on Sunday. Admission is free and there’s $25 all-you-can-eat tailgate food. Drink specials, too, with Jagermeister girls passing out shots like some good quarterback throws passes (not sure what that means) and prizes from 3-6pm. Please call 702.249.3919 for details.

Also should be rowdy in Sports Book, Sports Book bar, Quinn’s …

at Sunset Station

4 bars for ayce/d!

We like this one because it’s like a football “pub crawl” where you can roam around – eat and drink – and then move on to the next place. Since there’s four spots maybe spend one quarter of the game at each. Plus you can work off some calories if you keep moving.

Anyway, starting at 2pm you get like a wristband or something for $20 (buy at any of the bars) and you can grub through out the game at Guadi Bar (the one in the middle with the cool stained-class ceiling), Rosalita’s (over by Starbucks), Bullfighter’s (Sports Book) and the King Pin Lounge (bowling center) just like it says on this poster here to right …

at Boulder Station

The always-cool Railhead will be ready with doors open at 2pm.

All kinds of food (wings, sliders, nachos, hot dogs, chili dogs, of course, and pizza) and drinks (beers, buckets of beers, beer towers, need to know what that is, shots, cocktails) … worry not, we know what we’re doing. Menu to the right here …

Free admission. Tables are available for reservations and more info at 702.432.7777.

at Palace Station

We love drink specials that coincide with the game action. At Cabo, they have $2 shot specials with every score of the game. The Over/Under is like 55ish so that could be way fun. Way! (What movie?)

So the deal with the party, it’s free admission and $20 gets you an all-you-can-eat Mexican buffet. Food at Cabo is excellent. You can buy tickets at Cabo starting Wednesday. Party starts at 2pm on Sunday. They have two large projector screens. $5 domestic pitchers. Party on! Excellent. (Same movie.)

Hot in Las Vegas Slots: ‘It’s Been a Balmy’ Winter 2012 Edition

Play Build-A-Wheel for prizes on our Facebook pages until Jan. 17.

LET’S START THE Hot in Slots Winter 2012 (the weather in Las Vegas has been quite balmy so far this year, by the way) blog post with a cool new thing we’ve been doing on our facebook page. First, because this is the Hot in Slots blog highlighting what’s new on our slot floors, we’ll start by announcing that throughout December 2011 we placed new Build-A-Wheel Video Poker machines in all our casinos. (Ask a slot attendant where the facebook game is :) )

Have you seen/played it yet?

If not, you’re in luck because it’s on all our facebook pages as we are holding daily slot tournaments (through January 17) where you can win prizes (and can’t lose really, by the way … it’s facebook) for playing Build-A-Wheel. You should check it out either in the casino or on facebook … here’s a link to links to all our facebook pages. After you like the facebook page, click the Build-A-Wheel tab in the left-hand margin, register and go for the high score!

Now for other new releases and general fun from our Las Vegas slot floors recently. Good Luck, by the way!

Got questions or comment for our slot managers? Let us know below!

At all 10 Station and Fiesta Casinos last week (above at Texas Station) debuted the Breakfast at Tiffany’s machine. As you can see we got in the spirit of things and many guests got a free pull.

During our Holiday Cash Giveaway at the end of December we gave away at least $100,000 (10 $1,000 winners at 10 casinos) for 10 straight nights. Some folks, like this Aliante Station winner, actually got $1,500 with the $500 “Be There” Bonus. Happy New Year!

Over at Fiestas, Rancho and Henderson, we are having January Play Days where there’s good stuff all month including dining discounts, Video Poker tournaments and gift days, but we like the $100,000 Cash Wheel spinning on Saturday nights … where it will land nobody knows …

Our slots guys take great pride in keeping the latest Video Reels on the floor, like below Boulder Station (left) and Texas Station …

These participation games get bigger and cooler like the Paradise Fishing at Green Valley Ranch.

Can’t forget Wildfires, as, along with great beer, Barley’s has the new Dark Knight.

See ya in the spring!

3 things you can do from your slot machine at Aliante Station Casino:

Happy Holidays from Aliante Station’s Slot Team!
From left to right: Steve, Sam, Pia, Patty, Payoong, Remy

  1. If you need a Boarding Pass, new or reprint just put your change light on.
  2. See the other device in their hand? You can cash out your EZ-pay Tickets right at your machine without leaving your machine!
  3. Did you know that we can watch your machine for a short period of time while you use the restroom, go to the ATM, or even run to the food court!

All of this by just pushing your change light!

Station Properties Trialing IGT Universal Slant

THE LARGER PROPERTIES at Station Casinos each have 10 IGT Universal Slant units on trial.

The new units feature dual 23-inch LCD displays, and are capable of supporting reels, video reels or multigame poker and keno.

Initial results have been very positive.

Ask our slot ambassadors to show you where the new units are on the floor.

Which do you prefer? Upright machines, slant screens or bartop unit?

‘Bonus Box’ Exclusive at Red Rock

WE ARE CONDUCTING the Nevada Field Trial for “Bonus Box,” a new product from Gaming Support.

Bonus Box is a cylinder that attaches to an existing slot machine and operates on its own Mystery Bonus. Currently we have $500 cash in each box. When the
bonus hits, the guest reaches up and takes the prize!

We can put anything in the box— iPhones, gift cards, etc. We will evaluate performance once the trial concludes and share more information.

What do you think? $500 is pretty good! What else should we put in the Bonus Box?
