Watch UFC 118 in Las Vegas at Station Casinos

Oops! You found an older post.
Go here for information about our UFC Viewing Parties for this weekend!

Will it be "Lights Out" for Toney in his UFC debut?

UFC 118′S GOT the lightweight title rematch with Frankie Edgar and BJ Penn, a tough call after their last title fight that Edgar won by decision.

MMA vs. Boxing: How long will James Toney, a very accomplished boxer with legendary hand speed, last in his UFC debut? That seems to be the question surrounding “Lights Out” in his throw-down against accomplished MMA legend, Randy Couture.

As if those two Main Events weren’t enough, Saturday’s under-card is overflowing with some of the most exciting 155 and 170 lb. talent in the UFC: Kenny Florian, Gray Maynard, Nate Diaz , Demian Maia and Marcus Davis all have been known for thrilling finishes.

Watch as five of our Las Vegas Hotel Casinos host Viewing Parties on Saturday, August 28 for UFC 118, live on Pay-Per-View from the TD Garden in Boston.

A few notes to accompany the info below: pre-sale admission to the Viewing Party at Sunset Station’s Club Madrid starts at 5pm, and you can call ahead for table reservations at GVR event. Enjoy!

Everything to Know About Our Las Vegas Cabanas

AAH, THE GOOD life. Lounging poolside at a fabulous Las Vegas Hotel Casino. Catching some rays. Maybe a nap. Sipping something cool. What could be better? Answer: Cabana. Yes, based on the information gathered below, a cabana makes all those things better.

See, here at the SC Blog we are mostly untanned, sort-of-pasty persons, as our lot in life is predominately staring at computer screens with artificial overhead lighting.

We wanted to know more about cabana rentals (aka, the good life) and so contacted the experts (probably very tan people) at four or our Las Vegas pools that rent cabanas. You know what we found out? – it’s all true, and the sweet life is even sweeter than we thought. Las Vegas cabana rentals at our pools are even better than imagined.

The Cabana Club at Red Rock is open to locals Saturday - Monday.

@ Red Rock Resort, some of the cabana amenities include:

  • Personalized Cabana Host
  • Chilled fresh fruit fondue
  • Complimentary lotions
  • Use of Nintendo Wii System (upon request)
  • Naked Juice 4 (orange, mango, strawberry-banana, blueberry machine)

Visit the Red Rock Resort Cabana Club page

STATION CASINOS TO HOST LARGEST 4TH OF JULY FIREWORKS SHOW IN SOUTHERN NEVADA WITH FIVE-PROPERTY FIREWORKS SHOW

LAS VEGAS — Continuing its 4th of July tradition, five Station Casinos’ properties will host the largest 4th of July fireworks show in Southern Nevada on Sunday, July 4 around 9pm for the entire community to enjoy.

The nine-minute fireworks show, named “Station Casinos’ 4th of July Blast” will be in celebration of the nation’s 234th birthday and will be featured at Aliante Station, Green Valley Ranch Resort, Fiesta Rancho and Texas Station as a shared location and Red Rock Resort.

Las Vegas 4th of July Fireworks

Five of Station Casinos properties will host fireworks displays on July 4th

The fireworks show will be produced by Fireworks by the Gruccis of New York, one of the premiere fireworks companies in the world who annually produces the 4th of July fireworks events as well past hotel-casino openings on behalf of Station Casinos.

For guests interested in staying at one of the participating hotel-casinos, Station Casinos now offers a new and exclusive hotel discount program, available only online at www.stationcasinos.com that offers room rate discounts for advance, pre-paid reservations. Click on “Book Online Now” at the top of the home page to access the exclusive online special to learn more about the program.

FIREWORKS FUN FACTS

  • It takes four days and approximately 700 man hours to set up the fireworks at all five locations
  • The state-of-the-art fireworks program is electronically fired from a computer-generated script featuring choreography between the music and fireworks
  • The Grucci family brought 17 pyrotechincians out to set up and launch the five shows
  • It took nearly 100 hours to choreograph the five shows
  • 71 firing batteries will be used
  • There will be 346 firing cues
  • It takes nine miles of wire to circuit the firing batteries
  • The lumber necessary for the set up is equivalent to what is used to side an average family house
  • The five primary colors of the fireworks rainbow that people will see are red, white, blue, green and yellow (blended together they will make additional colors in the sky as well)
  • Designer shells are from Australia, Canada, China, France, Great Britain, Italy, Japan, Spain and of course the United States
  • The Grucci’s of New York are one of the premiere fireworks companies in the world. Over the years they have produced some of the most extravagant fireworks shows including seven consecutive U.S. presidential inaugurations and several Olympic Games.

Las Vegas Restaurants: Sneak Peek at IL VINO

ALIANTE STATION IS opening a new Italian restaurant called IL VINO Cucina & Wine Bar today!

With dishes starting at under $10, Il Vino offers an affordable menu of Italian fusion cuisine (or use “authentic Italian cuisine”). ImenuFor those with smaller appetites, they even offer a small bites menu, with appetizers for just $4! It has a huge wine cellar too, if that’s your sort of thing. Enjoy their special La Valle tomatoes with your date, or the whole family!  And, most importantly, the food is outstanding based on the recent sample tasting. We think it will be one of the best Italian restaurants in Las Vegas and hope that it will become one of your favorite places to dine.
