Green Valley Ranch Spa Pedicure reviewed

After I saw in the RJ (ed: Las Vegas Review-Journal) that the GVR Spa was voted #1 Locals Spa again, I decided to treat myself to their Strawberry Pina Colada Pedicure.

This pedicure begins with a coconut bath fizz. Detailed shaping and grooming of the feet with a coconut exfoliation followed. Then, a hydrating strawberry mask and a very relaxing foot massage with coconut body butter left my feet feeling first relaxed and then revitalized.

I also highly recommend getting a classic facial while you are at the GVR Spa – I have had that, and ladies, I give both services 4 stars. Thank you! I will be back for a massage soon!

UFC 145 Viewing Parties in Las Vegas

UFC 145 JONES vs. Evans is one of the most anticipated MMA cards of 2012 and might only be surpassed for the year in terms of buzz by the upcoming June rematch between the world’s greatest fighter Anderson Silva and his constant foil, Chael Sonnen.

Jones vs. Evans is in no short supply of drama in its own right. With a long history as teammates, a very public falling out and subsequent bad blood, UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones has ample motivation to protect his title from the former Champ in Rashad Evans.

The exciting lineup of fights also includes an intriguing heavyweight match between Brendan Schaub and Ben Rothwell, a meaningful bout for the title picture in the Welterweight division between Rory MacDonald and Che Mills, as well as a return to the fold bout for former WEC Bantamweight Champ (and recent UFC pariah) Miguel Torres.

Former TUF contestants Matt Brown and Mac Danzig also make return appearances against Stephen Thompson and Efrain Escudero, respectively. Don’t miss another stacked UFC Pay Per View Card and one of the most significant title bouts of 2012 when UFC 145 goes live this Saturday. Find all your relevant UFC Fight Party viewing information below the video preview, and we’ll see you at your favorite Station Casinos location!

THE SC BLOG got lucky once again and snagged a real life Rock-n-Roller for a quick Q & A session.

This time around it’s our honor to pick the brain of Grace Potter & The Nocturnals’ guitarist Benny Yurco. The full band plays Aliante Station tonight and Green Valley Ranch next Friday, April 20th. This act has a reputation for tearing it up live. Trust us, we’ve see ‘em, that rep is well earned.

Michael Grimm to be GVR’s First Resident Headliner

LAS VEGAS – Following a successful tour and the release of his eponymous debut album, “America’s Got Talent” season-five winner Michael Grimm becomes the first weekly resident headliner at Green Valley Ranch Resort, beginning Saturday, April 21. The fedora-wearing star will sing his hits during special performances every Saturday at 8 p.m. (11 p.m. on May 12) at Ovation inside Green Valley Ranch Resort.

“For me, it’s all about the music,” said Michael Grimm.  “I’m truly honored to be playing a great-sounding room like Ovation.”

“We’re honored to have an artist as talented as Michael Grimm as Green Valley Ranch Resort’s first weekly resident headliner,” said Station Casinos’ Vice President of Entertainment Judy Alberti. “Michael is one of the music industry’s most gifted artists and we’re thrilled to have him in the Station Casinos family.”

With his soulful voice, Mississippi-bred Michael Grimm charmed millions of viewers as a contestant on season five “America’s Got Talent,” parlaying his substantial singer-songwriter appeal into a first-place finish and million-dollar prize. Grimm began performing at the age of 12 and moved to Las Vegas at 21 to perform as lead guitarist in the “Legends in Concert” show. Following his win on “America’s Got Talent,” Grimm worked with Grammy-award winning producer Don Was on his eponymous debut album, which was released in 2011 to critical acclaim.

All performances begin at 8 p.m. and there is a $5 cover at the door. Guests must be 21 years or older.

So, what do you think .. you going to check out Michael Grimm at Ovation?

Here’s some cool pictures from a charity event at GVR that Michael played.

Cherry to Re-Open This Summer at Red Rock

LAS VEGAS – Red Rock Resort is gearing up for summer with an entertainment lineup that includes the return of the 22,000 square foot indoor/outdoor CHERRY nightclub, Red Rock Cabana Club pool parties and the newly expanded Red Rock Casino Amphitheatre.

Beginning May 25 over Memorial Weekend through October, “CHERRY Nightclub: Summer Affair” will open its doors every Friday and Saturday night at 10 p.m. to offer a sexy and seductive nightlife experience in Summerlin. CHERRY is known for its dramatic entrance through a long mirrored tunnel intended to replicate the stem of a cherry that leads out onto the main dance floor and club as guests are surrounded by electric red leather walls and translucent crimson glass doors in an intimate oval shaped venue.

Cherry Nightclub: Summer Affair will be an indoor/outdoor nightlife experience as the venue features floor-to-ceiling glass walls where the club’s dance floor pours out to its own pool deck with outdoor lounge areas and a glowing onyx stone bar. The nightclub will feature some of today’s top DJ’s playing a dynamic mix of vocal house, rock and pop mash ups and Top 40 mixes. Exclusive VIP booths and tables will be available starting at $200 and reservations are highly recommended by calling 702-797-7300.

Senior Vice President of Station Casinos LLC and General Manager of Red Rock Resort Mark Dunkeson said the decision to reopen CHERRY as a seasonal nightclub came as a result of feedback by local residents who wanted a late night high energy nightlife experience within the resort/casino. “We want Red Rock Resort to be the obvious choice for weekend and late-night entertainment this summer,” said Dunkeson. “We’re increasing the amount of amphitheatre concerts and are bringing back our exclusive day-club pool parties on weekends to round out the summer entertainment offerings,” he said.

The nightclub will be hiring for seasonal positions including bartenders, VIP beverage servers, bussers, porters and hosts. Apply now, prior to attending the job fair, online at www.stationcasinos and click on “careers”. Applicants must attend a job fair inside CHERRY nightclub on April 17 and 18 between 3 p.m. and 8 p.m.

Did you ever go to the “old” Cherry? Gonna check out the new Cherry?
