T-time at Tbones: Las Vegas’ Best New Happy Hour

LAS VEGAS – Tbones Chophouse & Lounge, the chic award-winning steakhouse at Red Rock Resort, is proud to announce the launch of a new dazzling lounge experience. Aptly named T-time, this alluring experience is the ultimate hotspot for innovative dishes, hand-crafted cocktails and lively conversation, with 50 exceptional items offered daily from 5pm-7pm, for just $5 each.  With the restaurant’s attractive décor of rich reds and browns, a live piano player nightly, and intimate tabletop lounge and bar seating, T-time is the essential destination to unwind and people-watch with friends over an array of inviting offerings.

Fifty $5 items, including Chicken and Waffles and Cotton Candy Martinis, every day from 5-7pm at Tbones.

Created by Executive Chef Joseph Kudrak, the T-time experience is happy hour done right, featuring a bevy of generous-sized dishes such as the Buffalo, New York-classic beef on weck, chicken and waffles, chili and cheese tater tots, crispy rock shrimp tempura, chicken pot pie and pulled pork sliders.  Bar snacks take on a whole new meaning with creative tastes such as bacon popcorn, flash-fried shishito peppers tossed with smoked sea salt and sinfully delectable desserts including fried Oreos and crème brulee.

“When we created the T-time concept, it was important that we provide something we knew the guests would want, and present it to them in an interesting fun way,” said Chef Kudrak.  “We didn’t want to simply create another happy hour special, but rather a destination location for locals to socialize over great food and drinks.  We feel we have done just that with the ‘50 for $5 at 5’ offerings and are delighted to exceed guest expectations.”

The experience wouldn’t be complete without creative beverage pairings, which were conceived by Director of Beverage John Arishita.  The sweet notes in the whimsical cotton candy martini perfectly balance with the salty-spicy crunch of the chicken and waffles topped with jalapeno-infused maple syrup. Try the crisp and refreshing gin garden to cut through the richness of the creamy chicken pot pie, or for a decadently sweet finish, pair Young’s Double Chocolate Stout with the deep-fried Oreos.

View the T-time menu (PDF)

“As with the food menu, we wanted to have some fun with the cocktail and craft beer list,” said Arishita.  “Our guests will be able to try new drinks, like my personal favorite cocktail The Drink I Made You Last Time, or a 90-Minute IPA from Dogfish Head, one of the hottest craft beers on the market.  They can also stick to time-honored classics like a Beefeater martini, wines or an ice-cold Budweiser – our goal is to have something for everyone.”

Zowie Bowie’s Red Rock Return Heats Up Vegas Music Scene

LAS VEGAS – BACK BY POPULAR demand, Zowie Bowie is making a return to Red Rock Resort. The duo brings its unique blend of today’s hottest dance, hip-hop and Top 40 music to audiences at Rocks Lounge every Friday, beginning Sept. 3, 2010.

Zowie Bowie features the musical talents and unbridled energy of Chris Phillips, Marley Taylor and a high-voltage band that creates a sizzling and sexy sound that has become a Las Vegas mainstay. The two moved to Vegas in 2006 from Scottsdale, Ariz. to open and perform weekly at Red Rock Resort, where they quickly went on to become the city’s favorite local band. After three years, the pair moved to the Strip where they performed both their nightclub dance concert and their dream of an authentic Vintage Vegas show. Though it was their dream, the couple realized that performing for the locals at Red Rock Resort was really where they wanted to be.

“It was amazing getting to perform on the Strip, however we missed the fans that our shows at Red Rock brought in week after week,” said Zowie Bowie Lead Singer Chris Phillips. “After hearing an overwhelming response from locals that they too missed us at Red Rock, we realized that is where we truly belong and the move back just feels right.”

“We’re excited to have Zowie Bowie back at Rocks Lounge,” said Judy Alberti, vice president of entertainment for Station Casinos. “They’re adding to the unparalleled entertainment we offer at Red Rock from our Sandbar outdoor poolside concerts this summer that features top artists such as Rob Thomas, Don Henley and Train, to our Party on the Rocks concert series every Saturday night. And with the newly opened Yard House to start off the night, the party will keep going, ever reinforcing that Red Rock is a one-stop destination for dining and entertainment.”

Zowie Bowie will perform every Friday night, beginning Sept. 3 at Rocks Lounge, Red Rock Resort’s intimate 150-seat Las Vegas concert venue. Doors open at 10 p.m. and the show will start at 11 p.m. The show is open to adults 21 years or older and there is no cost for admission. VIP bottle service is available upon request. Entry will be first come, first served and based upon venue capacity.

LAS VEGAS COMEDY: Louie Anderson Set to Move to Palace Station

LAS VEGAS – COMEDY LEGEND LOUIE Anderson announced today that he will begin a new headlining residency at Palace Station on Tuesday, September 7, 2010, performing in what is currently Bonkerz Comedy Club Showroom. The change in venues is spurred by the comedian’s love of performing in a comedy club-style venue, while still remaining accessible to both locals and tourists alike. The new show will be a family-friendly show for all ages.

“I’ve had a great run at the Excalibur, but it’s time for a change and I love the intimacy of Bonkerz and its mix of both locals and tourists gives me more room to expand my routine,” said Anderson. “I’m also excited to get to work with Joe again after so many years – the guy is as good as they come in this industry.”

Joe is Bonkerz Comedy Club owner Joe Sanfelippo who owns and operates the national chain of comedy clubs.

“We’re thrilled to have a comedian of Louie Anderson’s caliber headlining in our venue,” said Sanfelippo. “This is a great opportunity for us to continue our success with longer running headliners, but now at a much higher level.”

To compliment the move, Palace Station will be renaming the showroom in Louie’s name. The change will also include transformation of the 250-seat room with Anderson memorabilia decorating the walls. In addition, Anderson will also be bringing his acclaimed “Standup Boot Camp,” which he co-founded with comedian Kyle Cease, to Palace Station. “Standup Boot Camp” is an interactive seminar where Anderson and Cease mentor aspiring comedians in every aspect of the entertainment industry, from comedic delivery to hiring the best representation. Yard House Grand Opening June 6 at Red Rock

Located next to the Poker Room, the new Yard House is open daily from 11am with late-night dining.

LAS VEGAS — Yard House is getting ready to double down with the opening of its second Las Vegas location inside Red Rock Resort. The restaurant, which made its Vegas debut in 2008 at Town Square Las Vegas, will open its doors to the public at its newest location on Sunday, June 6, for lunch, dinner and late-night dining.

“Las Vegas has been an excellent market for us,” said Harald Herrmann, president and CEO of Yard House Restaurants. “Our location at Town Square continues to be one of our top producing restaurants, and I have no doubt that our new Red Rock Resort location will be a tremendous success as well. The casino setting is certainly exciting and adds another dynamic to the Yard House experience.”

The 13,515 square-foot restaurant, which faces Charleston Avenue, boasts 130 taps of beer, a menu of American fusion fare, original artwork commissioned by Orange County artist Jerome Gastaldi, and a state-of-the-art sound and visual system with indoor and outdoor seating that can accommodate 557 guests. The striking interior showcases a contrasting mix of warm woods, stainless steel accents, and a signature oval bar encircled by tap handles.

Sports fans can catch the latest game on one of the many flat screens that are strategically positioned throughout the restaurants, while enjoying the strains of the restaurant’s vast music library boasting more than 5,000 titles of mostly classic rock. The sophistication of the audio technology allows the play list to be instantly altered in real time to reflect the age and preference of the guests.

“Music is as equally important as our food, beer and service,” says Steele Platt, founder and chairman of Yard House Restaurants. “We want people to enjoy the ambiance, the food, and conversation. Won’t we don’t want is the distraction that comes along with the clatter of silverware, so we’ve made music a cornerstone of the Yard House concept.”

As with each Yard House, it’s the glass-enclosed keg room that is essentially the pulse of the operation housing as much as 5,000 gallons of beer at a time. Three to five miles of individual beer lines, as well as an assembly of glycol lines, stretch from the keg room to the island bar via overhead stainless steel conduits maintaining a constant temperature of 34-36 degrees and keeping the beer consistently fresh and perfectly chilled for every pint.

Adding to the ambiance is a menu of American fusion fare created by award-winning Executive Chef and Partner Carlito Jocson. With a nod to his Filipino heritage, many of Chef Jocson’s dishes feature flavors of the Pacific Rim, which are then infused with more traditional fare. The menu, which boasts more than 100 items, includes a creative list of appetizers, salads, sandwiches, rice and pasta dishes, as well as steak and seafood. A prix fixe children’s menu, printed on a 12-page activity book, features a selection of items found on the regular menu only served in age-appropriate portions.

The new Yard House is located inside Red Rock Resort at 11011 W. Charleston off I-215. The restaurant is open daily from 11am with late-night dining offered until 12:30am Sunday-Thursday and until 1am on Friday and Saturday. For information, please call 702.363.YARD (9273).
