Las Vegas Memorial Day Weekend Events at Station Casinos

With parties on Sunday and Monday, The Pond at Green Valley Ranch should be a blast this Memorial Day weekend.

FIRST, THANK YOU to the men and women of the U.S. military. This blog post is really for you, and your families, as Memorial Day is this Monday.

The origins of Memorial Day go back to the American Civil War as an observance that commemorates those who died in military action. Like with many holidays here in the U.S., it seems, the meaning of Memorial Day often gets incorrectly skewed as “the beginning of summer,” “a long weekend” or “BBQ day.”

Memorial Day is a day to relax, and below are a few ways to have fun at Station Casinos this weekend. So enjoy the day with some sun, music and food, relax, but also remember. And again, Thank You.

Summertime Las Vegas Concerts at Station Casinos (Part 3)

The "Party of the Rock" concert series has big-name bands in a 450-seat lounge for $20. Very nice!

YOU’RE NOT GOING to believe the ticket price points of some of our Las Vegas concerts this summer! Our “Party On The Rocks” concert series at Red Rock Resort kicked off last Saturday, May 22 inside Rocks Lounge with the Blues Rock of the Robert Cray Band.  The series will feature live Rock and Alternative music from bands performing long sets with no opening acts, and get this – tickets start at only $20 plus tax/fees! There’s a VIP Package worth noting for these shows, too. For $300, you and your party receive eight tickets and a select bottle of vodka, whiskey or rum to enjoy in an exclusive area of your own.

The Memorial Day weekend concerts in Las Vegas at Red Rock are set to go off at the Red Rock outdoor concert venue, the Sandbar. George Clinton and Parliament Funkadelic is sure to get Summerlin shakin’ on Friday night, while Loverboy rocks Red Rock on Saturday and Alt-rockers OK Go & The Cab finish out the holiday weekend. These show tickets start at only $15 plus tax/fees, and Sunday’s show is 18 +, a rarity for the Las Vegas local music scene.

You can’t discuss Las Vegas concert value without mentioning Station Casinos’ weekly concerts.

Thursdays bring Boulder Blues to Boulder Station. This is a fan favorite and a hidden gem in Vegas. Las Vegas Blues fans drive from miles around every Thursday night to pack The Railhead for great touring Blues bands.

Fridays are for Yellow Brick Road at Green Valley Ranch. Las Vegas Review-Journal Readers picked them as the best local rock band in the city for 2010. In other words: don’t miss YBR at GVR!

Saturday nights at Sunset Station are now known for Nawgahyde. This gang of goofy rednecks packs a punch and packs the dance floor with southern rock, classics and metal tribute tunes. They call it Kick Ass Mustache Rock, and the fans tell us that they’re right.

Nashville Unplugged at Green Valley Ranch is a unique monthly performance with Country’s top singers/songwriters showcasing the songs they helped take up the charts. For only $5, this is a can’t-miss for Country fans living in or visiting Las Vegas.
