Las Vegas UFC 127 Viewing Parties at Station Casinos

FAN FAVORITE BJ Penn’s fight game is not to be questioned. He’s one of the most dominant fighters in recent UFC history in multiple weight classes, and though he had some setbacks in 2010 (namely, Frankie Edgar’s boxing skills) at 155 lbs., Penn’s toughest challenge yet could come this weekend at 170 lbs. in Sydney, Australia, at the hands of gritty grappler-extraordinaire, Jon Fitch. Fitch has been on a mean streak and is looking for a title shot.

Saturday’s fight card from Sydney features several key fights that are sure to keep fans on the edge of their seats in any of the below locations in Las Vegas. Michael Bisping takes a 21-3 record into the Octagon vs. 18-7 Jorge Rivera. George Sotiropoulos vs. Dennis Siver has the makings of being a highlight reel of its own, and don’t miss Spencer Fisher vs. Ross Pearson, two of the scrappiest 155 lb. fighters in the UFC. Other familiar faces on this card are Nick Ring, Kyle Noke and Chris Lytle. Any of them could take home big bonuses for knockout of the night or submission of the night.

FIGHT FANS, THIS one’s gonna be FUN.

Anderson “Spider” Silva had a heck of a scare last year from Chael Sonnen, but otherwise, he’s been completely dominant since coming to the UFC. He’s going to have his hands full with feared striker Vitor Belfort on Saturday February 5.

But that’s only one of the monster fights this weekend at UFC 126 in Las Vegas. Rich “Ace” Franklin and Forrest Griffin are both former light-heavyweight champions and they both like to bang. (Don’t miss that fight!)

Additionally, there’s a fight that’s showcasing two of the future favorites to be champs in that same division: Jon “Bones” Jones vs. Ryan “Darth” Bader. Both have been dominant of late, Bader is 13-0, and with the exception of a DQ for Jones vs. Matt Hamill, he’d be undefeated, too (11-1).

FINALLY, EH? GEORGES St. Pierre and Josh Koscheck will rematch this Saturday night, December 11 in Montreal. The coaches from this season’s The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) show on Spike TV aren’t friends. Not even close. If you watch the show, you know that these fighters couldn’t be more opposite from one another. GSP is quiet and confident. Koscheck’s trash talk has been “writing checks” all season long, and we are all waiting to see if GSP is ready to cash those “checks” in. The boos will be deafening in St. Pierre’s turf when Kos is announced, but that’s pretty much the only sure thing at UFC 124.

Other matchups we’re excited for on Saturday night: Two towering giants collide! 6’11 Stefan Struve vs. 6’7 Sean McCorkle should be exciting. We’ll see if McCorkle’s 33lbs is an advantage or not. UFC Veterans, Joe “Daddy” Stevenson vs. Mac Danzig could go 100 mph in any direction, to the mat or end by strikes. Jim Miller vs. Charles Oliveira have the MMA blogs buzzing. Many think this will be fight of the night. Also, do. Not. Miss. The Muay Thai battle between Thiago Alves (beat Koscheck awhile back) vs. John Howard (wild, crazy exciting fights). ONE YEAR AGO, few Mixed Martial Arts fans would have predicted losses for BJ Penn and Lyoto Machida. Both were on a roll and looking unbeatable. As things stand now, both fighters are looking to get back on track for their former belts. UFC fans know (now more than ever) that anything can happen in the Octagon. That’s why you should bring some friends and watch UFC 123 in Las Vegas at Station Casinos, as former Light Heavyweight champions with completely different styles go head-to-head in the Main Event: Rampage Jackson vs. Machida. Don’t blink during this one.

Longtime UFC veterans and fan favorites Penn and Matt Hughes will lock up for the third time on Saturday night at 170lbs. The last time Penn went up to this weight class (Welterweight), Georges St. Pierre won decisively. The last time he fought Huges, however, he won in a first-round submission. Another win over Hughes could put Penn back on track for another long win streak. Regardless of the outcome, watching Hughes vs. Penn means a victory for the fans. Both fighters are considered among the best UFC warriors of all time.

IF YOU LIKE heavyweight slugfests, UFC 121 is just what you have been waiting for. Cain Velasquez has defeated every opponent in his path while earning his title shot. Now he’s going toe to toe with Big Brock. Don’t show up late, though – there’s several great match-ups this Saturday night in Anaheim. Jake Shields makes his UFC debut after defeating Dan Henderson as Strikeforce’s 185 lb champ. We’ll get to see how the other leagues’ talent holds up vs. UFC talent when he faces Martin “The Hit Man” Kampmann. (Should be a great fight).

Will it be "Lights Out" for Toney in his UFC debut?

UFC 118′S GOT the lightweight title rematch with Frankie Edgar and BJ Penn, a tough call after their last title fight that Edgar won by decision.

MMA vs. Boxing: How long will James Toney, a very accomplished boxer with legendary hand speed, last in his UFC debut? That seems to be the question surrounding “Lights Out” in his throw-down against accomplished MMA legend, Randy Couture.

As if those two Main Events weren’t enough, Saturday’s under-card is overflowing with some of the most exciting 155 and 170 lb. talent in the UFC: Kenny Florian, Gray Maynard, Nate Diaz , Demian Maia and Marcus Davis all have been known for thrilling finishes.
