We pride ourselves in providing value, and great music for every taste, with a touch of comedy for your funny bone from time to time, too. So excited and proud, in fact, I’ve agreed to blog in this space about the shows each month with a preview and a little inside information of what you can expect. If you would like to attend any of our shows this month, or look even further ahead on our 2011 entertainment schedule, here’s our spot to buy Las Vegas concert tickets.

Enjoy the shows, we look forward to entertaining you!

In The Spirit of Valentine’s Day we’re happy to spotlight some upcoming live entertainment events scheduled at Station Casinos venues featuring artists that are noted for a romantic side:

Melissa Manchester – The singer noted for “Don’t Cry Out Loud” and her Grammy winner “You Should Hear How She Talks About You” has sung her heart out on her fair share of ballads. She plays the best kept secret in the Vegas Valley, The Railhead at Boulder Station, on 2.24.12.   Get Tickets For Melissa Manchester

David Nail – Anyone that’s favorably compared to Frank Sinatra knows a thing or two about a ballad, and modern Country artist David Nail certainly knows his way around a love song, with smash hits like “Let It Rain” and “Red Light”.  David plays Chrome Showroom in Santa Fe Station this Saturday night, 2.18.12.    Get Tickets For David Nail

Mat Kearney – With an album titled “Young Love”, Mat Kearney is an easy choice for this list. Mat brings his adult contemporary up from Nashville all the way to Aliante Station’s Access Showroom on 2.28.12. This one is a few weeks away but worth the wait. With a song that was heavily featured on Grey’s Anatomy, you know Mat has broken a few hearts in his day.   Get Tickets for Mat Kearney

Jon Anderson – The legendary front-man for the iconic progressive band YES knows a thing or 2 about love. Let alone his penchant for bursting into the Beatle’s classic “All You Need Is Love”, Jon has spent his entire career writing and singing on the topic. He plays Ovation at GVR on 2.24.12   Get Tickets For Jon Anderson

Little River Band – With Top 10 hit singles like “Lady” and “Lonesome Loser”, not to mention 25 million in record sales to their credit, it’s safe to say this Australian born act has had a 30 plus year love affair with American audiences. The Little River Band plays Ovation at Green Valley Ranch on 2.25.12   Get Tickets For Little River Band

Poco – These California Country Rockers sprang out of the 60’s icon Buffalo Springfield. With notable hit songs like “Crazy Love” and “Pickin’ Up The Pieces”, you better believe they can croon with the best of them. Poco performs live on 2.18.12 at Sunset Station’s Club Madrid.   Get Tickets For Poco

Adal Ramones – Not getting the connection? Comedian Adal Ramones Mexican Television hit “La Pesera Del Amor” was a forerunner of the current “Bachelor” craze on American Television. Adal’s version dates back to 2003! When it comes to love, Adal was ahead of his time, paying for the wedding and broadcasting it live. Adal Plays the Dallas Events Center at Texas Station on 2.25.12.    Get Tickets For Adal Ramones

December 2011 Concerts In Las Vegas

Happy Holidays everyone! Wouldn’t you agree that giving the gift of concert tickets is better than say, a sweater? This month, we asked a question around the office: “What’s the best concert you have seen, and why?

My favorite by far was Waylon Jennings at Texas Station. He was a favorite in my household growing up. When I was able to bring him to a Station Casino, I actually teared up for the first and only time when an artist walked onto one of our stages. He has subsequently passed away, but I am always proud that his last two plays in Las Vegas were with us.

Here are a few of the responses to our “best concert” question that we got back from various team members at our offices:

Pink Floyd.  Division Bell Tour -Soldier Field
I was just a casual fan at the time, and that show changed my life. It wasn’t just a concert, it was a religious experience.
P.S. I was sober; no really, I was sober, I swear. Marc – Art Director

About 5 years ago I was working at the Hard Rock Hotel in the marketing department and we put on the most epic night in the history of that casino. It was Rolling Stone Magazine’s 40th anniversary party and we went all out. We had 50 Cent and Angels and Airwaves performing at the pool, Linkin Park in the parking lot, Britney Spears and Paris Hilton at Body English and then a private invite-only performance by Kanye West in the Joint. All at the same time!!! There were only about 500 of us in the Joint as Kanye was putting on an amazing show. All of a sudden, the lights all went out and Jamie Foxx walked through the middle of the crowd , jumped up on stage, and they started performing Golddigger! Everyone went wild.- Kyle – Director of Nightlife

String Cheese Incident with Keller Williams in Tulum, Mexico. December 1998. When you combine a high energy band and a Mayan temple things get mystical, magical and decadent real fast.  - Rich – Web Developer

It was Led Zeppelin, at the Los Angeles Forum, during the Presence Tour, June, 1977. Why? It was Led Zeppelin, that’s why! - Jeff – Sr. Copy Writer

My most memorable concert experience was this past summer at the Revolution Party for the People summer Concert Series at Red Rock Sandbar Pool. Lifehouse was performing and we had to open the doors about 20 minutes late because it might rain. Well we got the concert going and it was a great night, Lifehouse did a great show and as they finished up a song the stage went black and they walked off stage leaving the crowd wondering if that was the end. A few minutes later the lights came back on and they came back out performing one of their top hits, just a little into the song it lightly started to rain and the crowd just erupted with everyone dancing in the rain. That night was an amazing show and a great experience.  - Tim, Nightlife Interactive Media Development

Lenny Kravitz at Retama Park. I got second-hand stoned. You probably can’t use that, but it’s true. - Anonymous (we promised)

Before working at Red Rock I had been to a whole two concerts. Spice Girls in fifth grade, (awesome by the way) and some Country Fest with my parents. When the Revolution Concert Series started I was stoked. I attended every show and loved them all! Puddle of Mudd was by far the most eventful concert to me. The line wrapped all the way out the doors, passed the movie theatres, into the bowling alley, and back around. I had never seen so many familiar faces in one place! It was like an unplanned family and friend reunion! To top it all off, it started raining on the last few songs of the concert. Everyone loved it and just continued to dance, sing, and cheer! The night continued with the after parties at the Cabana Club, Rocks Lounge, then at the Cherry Suite! By far the most amazing concert experience. I’m pretty sure the sun was up when I got home. - Lexi, Nightlife Guest Development

Best concert I’ve seen would have to be Enrique Iglesias & Pitbull at Red Rock Resort a couple months ago. I was with a great group of people so I already anticipated an enjoyable night but once Pitbull hit the stage my expectations were blown away. Not only did the performers put on a stellar performance but the energy in the venue was AMAZING and highly contagious. Seeing 9,000 people in one area going wild with excitement was a unique experience that carried it’s energy into the rest of my night. What a great memory! - Tricia, Nightlife & Special Events Manager

I think I have about 50, but Rage Against the Machine at Denver Colosseum during the Battle Of Los Angeles tour stands out. I traded lousy tickets for floor tickets with a friend who wanted to put the moves on some girls. Rage was at their peak, and Tom Morello blew my mind with insane guitar solos that I can remember vividly  13 years later. The entire arena was a ball of energy and now I have the visuals to go with the classic songs I still listen to. - Nate, Social Media

I ask you, when you’re out shopping for that sweater or socks…. think about giving the the gift of concert tickets and maybe making someone’s “best concert” list. I’m booking shows for 2012, and I’m proud to say there are excellent shows coming! To name a few, Joe Nichols has 2 shows next weekend at Santa Fe Station, Aaron Lewis’ amazing acoustic performances always sell out, and Styx, Joe, George Thorogood, the Little River Band are sure to create memories!

November 2011 Concerts In Las Vegas

This month is about charity. The beautiful and talented Leann Rimes was set to kick off the giving season with a performance on November 3 at Green Valley Ranch, but due to an unfortunate illness the day of the show, the  benefit concert has been rescheduled and moved to Santa Fe Station on December 3. The $9.55 tickets went quickly, but a few may become available. Check ticket availability here.

Green Valley Ranch and our friends at RagTag Entertainment have a very busy month ahead. We’ll go into details on these shows for you this week, but in the meantime visit this page to see a lineup of great performances.

Classic Rock fans won’t want to miss Blue Oyster Cult live at Boulder Station’s Railhead on Nov. 18th and we’re getting funky with Average White Band at Green Valley Ranch’s Ovation on Nov. 12th.

I enjoy reading your comments here on the Station Casinos blog, and we also read our facebook pages and twitter every day. We see that we have lots of Buckinghams and Daughtry fans on our pages, for example, and we know you love our weekly entertainment, too.

Now I want to learn more about the shows you want to see! So, please comment below the three shows you’d most like to see, and which Station Casinos venue would best host the show.

Thanks for reading and thanks for the feedback!

May 2011 Concerts in Las Vegas

Hi again everyone.

We’ll start with the BIG news that we’re building a new concert venue in Las Vegas, and even bigger news is that we have two giant shows booked for it already: Motley Crue, Poison and the New York Dolls are set to perform June 18, and Toby Keith with special guest Eric Church on August 6 will be rockin’ the new Red Rock Casino Amphitheatre! We’ll talk more about the amazing new amphitheatre at Red Rock in upcoming posts but for now I can tell you that the Toby concert will be all reserved seating, so get your Toby Keith tickets early as they go on sale this Saturday (April 30) at 10am.

As I write this, we’re finishing off a busy April, and kicking off the biggest summer concert season in Station Casinos’ history. Probably the biggest in Las Vegas history! There are more shows than ever at Station Casinos throughout the valley, with something for every music fan’s taste.

Robert Cray, Sean Kingston, Echo and The Bunnymen and the Barenaked Ladies all play at May concerts Red Rock. How’s that for diversity? We can’t say enough about the pool-party-concert-extravaganza we have in store for Las Vegas in the Revolution Party for the People with the Barenaked Ladies on Memorial Day weekend (May 27). $30 gets a Local a lot of Love.

We’re also excited to welcome our old friend, Michael Grimm, to his Green Valley Ranch home, at Ovation on May 9. You know him as the winner of America’s Got Talent in 2010. We know him as the good guy/amazing musical talent who performed at many Station Casinos’ lounges and steakhouses throughout the past several years. Another repeat performance of sorts during May is the return of the musical Rent at GVR, which will run every Tuesday in May and June after sold-out performances earlier this year.

Our Country fans tell us they’re excited to see the Merle Haggard show at the Sunset Amphitheatre at Sunset Station on May 13, our Jazz fans are headed to Santa Fe Station for Norman Brown and Richard Elliot’s Summer Jam, and the ro

ckers will love Jason Bonham’s Led Zeppelin Experience at Aliante Station on May 28.

Two more great shows in May I want to mention and we hope will enjoy are Blues guitarist and music legend Johnny Rivers, Secret Agent Man, at Aliante Station on May 6, and Dokken & Quiet Riot are playing a free Listener Appreciation Concert at Sunset Station. Listen to 97.1 KXPT and 92.3KOMP for ticket giveaway details.

It’s really heating up around here!

April 2011 Concerts in Las Vegas

No foolin’ – here at Station Casinos, we love April. The weather warms up, pools open up and most importantly – later this month the outdoor stages go up.

Our first outdoor show of 2011 is a big one: the Darius Rucker concert at Sunset Amphitheater on the 29thfeaturing. Darius just did a stunning show on the ACM Awards so we expect another amazing performance. Then, the following night, Great White and Slaughter perform for 97.1 KXPT and 92.3 KOMP’s  Listener-Appreciation Concert. Be sure to listen to those two stations to find out where you can pick up your free concert tickets in Las Vegas. Folk rocker Livingston Taylor will perform inside at Sunset Station’s Club Madrid (9th).

MORE OUTDOOR CONCERTS: Check out the poolside concert lineup at Red Rock starting May 3!

Last Saturday (2nd), Rock legends Heart performed at the Grand Events Center at Green Valley Ranch. Sisters Ann and Nancy Wilson rocked the capacity crowd with all the classics! If you enjoyed the Heart concert (see pictures below), and be sure to mark your calendar for the 29th for the Foreigner concert at GVR, as well.  (Did you know they have sold an amazing 70 million albums?) We also announced that the musical Rent, after a very well-received run the last two months, will be coming back to GVR’s Ovation. Tickets for the musical Rent, Tuesdays in May and June, are just $15 plus tax/fees and available now.

Boulder Station’s Railhead hosts April Las Vegas concerts with Eddie Money (15th), Eric Burdon & The Animals (22nd), and Edwin McCain (23rd). If you haven’t seen a concert in Las Vegas at the Railhead, you should catch any of these shows, plus – they are all priced very reasonably. We’re told it’s one of the best places in Vegas to see a concert!

George Thorogood And The Destroyers will perform classics such as “Bad To the Bone,” and “Move It On Over” at the Dallas Events Center inside Texas Station on April 30th

Fiesta Rancho hosts Michel’Le & Christopher William (8th) and Chico DeBarge on (29th). Chuy Lizarraga (3oth) also performs in Club Tequila at Fiesta Rancho. His first hit “La Peinada (La Peinadita),” broke into the Top 10 of the Billboard charts.

Aliante Station’s Access Showroom is the place to be on April 8 if you like 60’s Soul Sounds. The Rascals & Mitch Ryder roll into Las Vegas to perform songs you know, such as: “Good Lovin’,” “Devil with a Blue Dress On/Good Golly Miss Molly,” and “It’s a Beautiful Morning.” At nearby Santa Fe Station, on April 23, you can catch BJ Thomas (all-ages) at Chrome, and you can get “Hooked On A Feeling” and appropriately for April, hear “Raindrops Keep Fallin’ On My Head.” BJ Thomas concert tickets start at just $20+tax/fees for this show.

You can Party On The Rocks five times this month at Red Rock! Come see The Edgar Winter Group (2nd); Morris Day & The Time, one of the best live shows you’ll ever see on the 9th; Bruce Hornsby (16th) treats us to a rare appearance in Vegas; Cowboy Mouth (23rd), who sold out this same room last summer; and the recent Grammy Award Winner Leon Russell (30th).  Can you believe these Party on the Rocks tickets are just $20+ tax/fees?

March 2011 Concerts in Las Vegas

March is sure to be a great month for music fans in Las Vegas at Station Casinos: 10 great concerts, 1 comedian and 4 plays, to be precise.

This month brings us something very special to Ovation inside Green Valley Ranch with the Ragtag Entertainment production of the Broadway classic, RENT. Benefitting Golden Rainbow, these shows are each Wednesday night in March (9, 16, 23, and 30). What’s more, tickets to see RENT in Las Vegas are only $15 + tax & fees. Don’t miss it!

Music-wise, start things off March 4 at Boulder Station’s Railhead with The Alan Parsons Live Project. (Get your Alan Parsons tickets quick, they’re going fast!) Classic Country music fans will want to be back the following night at the Railhead for Roy Clark. Also March 5 across town at Red Rock see the harmonica guru known for his days as the front man of Blues Traveler, John Popper and The Duskray Troubadours. Rocks Lounge is such an exciting and intimate place to see a band like this - so much diversity.

Exclusive Video of Aaron Lewis performing live at Aliante Station, January 2011

Christian Rock fans in Las Vegas should be excited for March 11 at Santa Fe Station. Stryper is touring and celebrating their new album, The Covering – a tribute album compiled of the band’s influences. Here’s a tip: There’s a very special VIP Meet and Greet ticket upgrade for Stryper available.

March 12 at Green Valley Ranch is another huge name you know: Huey Lewis and The News! We’re refraining from Hip-To-Be-Square calls to action, so let’s just agree to hurry and grab your Huey Lewis tickets while they last. Same night in Summerlin at Red Rock is Vertical Horizon, who went Double Platinum with their album, Everything You Want, back in ’99. Brought to you by Belvedere Vodka, Party On The Rocks tickets at Rocks Lounge are just $20 + tax & fees.

Al Stewart returns to Vegas at Sunset Station on March 18, and the hilarious Comedian Doug Stanhope is back at Sunset inside Club Madrid the following night.

Aaron Lewis of Staind plays back-to-back acoustic shows at Green Valley Ranch’s Ovation on the 19 and 20. (Important note: Aaron Lewis will perform two different sets on Saturday and Sunday, so don’t miss this unique opportunity). We have some exclusive footage from his recent sold-out January show at Aliante Station. As you can see, Aaron Lewis puts on a great show.

Toad The Wet Sprocket rounds out March inside Rocks Lounge at Red Rock for a show on March 26. The Red Rock facebook fans told us that they had a blast with Toad last time around, and we’re excited to have them back!

Our February Las Vegas Concerts

There are no less than 19 fantastic Las Vegas shows lined up for music fans in February starting with Eddy Raven this Friday 4, at Aliante Station (Access Showroom tickets start at $15 plus tax/fees) Did you know he had 17 consecutive Top 10s between 1984 and 1990?

On Feb. 5, the legendary Blue Oyster Cult will rock Boulder Station’s Railhead, one of the best music venues in Las Vegas. Those tickets start at just $26.50 plus tax & fees. Red Rock will also be partying on the 5th, with the launch of the second season of Party On The Rocks concerts and the Gin Blossoms. On Feb. 11, Las Vegas Jazz music fans get a real treat at Boulder Station with the return of Guitars & Saxes featuring super-talents Gerald Albright, Peter White, Jeff Golub and Kirk Whalum. Last year, this show sold out well in advance. Also on the 11th, Mix 94.1 has partnered with Aliante Station to bring you Ryan Star, and the tickets for this show are just $9.41 + tax/fees! It’s been a while since concert ticket prices were that low!  Comedian, SIRIUS Radio show host and avid metal music fan, Jim Norton, will crack up comedy fans at Sunset Station that same night, and he’ll be fresh off an appearance on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.

Feb. 12 brings The Georgia Satellites (Red Rock), Christopher Cross (Sunset Station) and Johnny Gill for Las Vegas R&B music fans at Texas Station.

Guitar hero Robin Trower returns to the Railhead on Feb. 18. If you like a great guitar solo, don’t miss Trower in such a perfect venue to match his style. That same night, Al DiMeola will spice up Green Valley Ranch with his Latin-influenced jazz fusion.

On Feb. 26, we’re really excited to welcome back legendary Country music artist, Mel Tillis, to Boulder Station’s Railhead. Lastly, if last year’s packed BoDeans show was any indication, their show at Red Rock (Feb. 26) will keep guests at Red Rock rocking into March at full tempo.
