Where to Watch UFC Rio in Las Vegas

THIS SATURDAY NIGHT, January 14, at UFC Rio, we’ll see the dynamic speed, skill and power that the best two UFC Featherweights have. Jose Aldo vs. Chad Mendes is the main event Saturday night in Brazil, and we’re sure it won’t disappoint. The fighters have very different styles, but both are at the top of their game. Many of the fans (including the ones in our office!) are just as excited to see if Vitor Belfort can get back on track at middleweight vs. Anthony “Rumble” Johnson.

UFC on FOX Fight Parties at Station Casinos

UFC IS ON Fox for the first time ever, and you can watch it with your favorite Fox 5 TV personalities at two Station Casinos in Las Vegas. Westside MMA fans can join the party at Cherry inside Red Rock Casino, Resort & Spa, while our eastside friends can watch at Club Madrid inside Sunset Station.

Here’s the official announcement from UFC President, Dana White.

Doors open, drink specials and UFC merch giveaways will start at 5pm. Our partners from Fox 5 will be broadcasting live at 5:30. Olivia Fierro & Dave Hall, along with Denise Pernula, will be live from Cherry at Red Rock, and Jon Castagnino & Claudine Grant will be broadcasting from Club Madrid. We’ll have live interviews from the fights in Anaheim as well as some of the UFC’s greatest hits (literally) before the main event.

Here’s a list of confirmed guests at the Parties. If you can’t make it (shame!) be sure to keep up with us on twitter during the fight.

The historic UFC Heavyweight title fight between Cain Velasquez and Junior dos Santos will start at 6pm – and trust me, you don’t want to look away. These two are both giants, they’re both undefeated, and they’re both young, fast and tough as nails.

BEFORE WE GET to the UFC 131 Las Vegas fight parties at our casinos, we just wanted to share this cool video of Phil Davis posing with fans at Red Rock Resort. Eight great places to watch UFC 130 in Las Vegas on Memorial Day Weekend

WE WELCOME THE UFC back home to Las Vegas on Memorial Day Weekend with open arms. (Even the boxing fans, probably.) The UFC 130 fight card has changed a few times due to injuries, but that doesn’t mean it’s weak, by any means.

Knockout artist Rampage Jackson returns to the octagon to face a very tough wrestler in Matt Hamill. A couple Las Vegas locals do battle as well – heavyweights Frank Mir and Roy Nelson square off. Awhile back we wrote a pretty cool blog post about Frank Mir and his father, Frank II, who works at Station Casinos. (We Love UFC and you know We Love Locals, right?)

Also, don’t miss the always-exciting striker, Thiago Alves vs. Rick Story, and you gotta watch the 6’11 Skyscraper Struve. 135-pounders Miguel Angel Torres and Demetrious Johnson will be a 100-mph slugfest, no doubt.

8 UFC Fight Parties in Las Vegas at Station Casinos

UFC 129 IS a pretty historical fight – you won’t want to miss the main event between Canadian Georges St-Pierre and American Jake Shields. Shields has one heck of a winning streak going … something like 15 straight wins, spanning five or six years in various fight leagues. Here’s the problem for Shields: GSP is smarter, bigger and meaner than ever. Many think he’s the best pound-for-pound fighter on the planet, and 55,000 MMA fans in Toronto will undoubtedly be in his corner of the octagon this Saturday in Toronto.

Keep an eye on these fights, too:

Two former light-heavyweight champs, living legend, 47-year old Randy Couture and unique striking expert Lyoto Machida are both capable of exciting finishes. Don’t blink. Also, former WEC featherweight champion, Jose Aldo (Joe Rogan loves this guy – “Top 3 on the planet”) vs. Mark Hominick (mad striking skills) have both recently finished opponents in under a minute!

The UFC always does a great job of mixing top talent with up-and-comers, regional favorites and all styles of fighters, and UFC 129 is no exception. Las Vegas UFC 128 Viewing Parties at Station Casinos

BONES JONES JUST defeated Ryan Bader on February 5 – and the UFC wasted no time in getting the dynamic young fighter back in the Octagon. Some people were shocked that Jones was awarded a title fight so early in his career, and in such a competitive division (light heavyweight). To others, it makes perfect sense. Bones has an insane reach advantage, great wrestling, and Jiu-Jitsu skills that have outmatched every UFC opponent, with the exception of Matt Hamill, who won when Jones was disqualified for using illegal strikes.

Watch UFC 128 at Station Casinos in Las Vegas.

Shogun Rua is on quite a roll himself. Rua looked strong taking the belt in his rematch with Lyoto Machida after their tough, close first match the first time around. Before that he knocked out UFC Legends Chuck Liddell and Mark Coleman.

Don’t miss the UFC debut of The California Kid, Uriah Faber, versus Eddie Wineland. Faber was a longtime champion in the WEC. At 5’6, 135 lbs., you’ll rarely see his type of strength, speed and toughness.

Fans, this fight card is stacked! Other exciting fighters to watch are: Jim Miller, Nate Marquardt, Kurt Pellegrino, Mike Pyle, and Mirko Cro Cop (vs. Brendan Schaub at heavyweight) – don’t blink, this could go either way in a split second. FAN FAVORITE BJ Penn’s fight game is not to be questioned. He’s one of the most dominant fighters in recent UFC history in multiple weight classes, and though he had some setbacks in 2010 (namely, Frankie Edgar’s boxing skills) at 155 lbs., Penn’s toughest challenge yet could come this weekend at 170 lbs. in Sydney, Australia, at the hands of gritty grappler-extraordinaire, Jon Fitch. Fitch has been on a mean streak and is looking for a title shot.

Saturday’s fight card from Sydney features several key fights that are sure to keep fans on the edge of their seats in any of the below locations in Las Vegas. Michael Bisping takes a 21-3 record into the Octagon vs. 18-7 Jorge Rivera. George Sotiropoulos vs. Dennis Siver has the makings of being a highlight reel of its own, and don’t miss Spencer Fisher vs. Ross Pearson, two of the scrappiest 155 lb. fighters in the UFC. FIGHT FANS, THIS one’s gonna be FUN.

Anderson “Spider” Silva had a heck of a scare last year from Chael Sonnen, but otherwise, he’s been completely dominant since coming to the UFC. He’s going to have his hands full with feared striker Vitor Belfort on Saturday February 5.

But that’s only one of the monster fights this weekend at UFC 126 in Las Vegas. Rich “Ace” Franklin and Forrest Griffin are both former light-heavyweight champions and they both like to bang. (Don’t miss that fight!)

Additionally, there’s a fight that’s showcasing two of the future favorites to be champs in that same division: Jon “Bones” Jones vs. Ryan “Darth” Bader. Both have been dominant of late, Bader is 13-0, and with the exception of a DQ for Jones vs. Matt Hamill, he’d be undefeated, too (11-1).
